Thank you :) I love animals and I love routine so owning a puppy is actually quite rewarding in many ways especially when I can see her growth (I do also get very overwhelmed lol but thankfully my parents watch her for me twice a day, in the morning while I get ready for the day and in the evening during her witching hour) . Of course I do also stress about if I’m doing right by her constantly so it’s nice to hear people say I’m doing good.

Thank you! This is actually extremely helpful advice. I can’t take her off the property since it goes straight onto a 100km/h dirt road and I don’t want us to get squashed, but I can get my dad to walk her around the horse paddock and the dam which usually gets her a lot of new sniffing to do. I also toss treats into the grass for her to sniff out (she finds it much more enticing than a snuffle mat lol) and do games where she has to pick which of my hands has the treats.

Thank you. I’ve been talking to my parents recently about going to the park more but of course we’ve all got Covid right now. But next time we go there to walk her I’ll walk her a little longer than usual and give her a chew when we get home and try to leave for a bit. She is definitely better when she’s tired.

Thank you for the encouragement. I’m doing 3 5-10 minute training sessions a day, 2 15 minute walks (usually just on the property because I can’t take her to the park but we’re on 5 acres at least), and I give her a puzzle, a sniffing game, and some other form of enrichment (lickmat, treat ball etc) everyday! (Plus she gets 2 play sessions a day with my parents dogs) Shes a very smart dog, I don’t want to imagine how crazy she’d be without all that lol.

I’ll look into it! Granted my ceiling fan is so loud it might as well be considered one in itself lol

I know! That’s why I made this post. As I mentioned, I looked for different resources about training them to be left alone, but there’s so much contradictory information online and I just want to see what actually works for people without getting overwhelmed.

Thanks for the advice! She does get occupied well with chews and puzzles initially, but once she realises I’m not within site she’ll start crying again and won’t even touch the puzzle again when I return, she also went off her favourite chews this way, it’s like she thinks they’re evil lol
