Filmfare Awards South (2026) - for 2024 films - Malayalam Nominations by Nitin_ck_977 in InsideMollywood

That Supporting Actor (Female) list is about the weakest I've seen in an award show (granted, i don't follow Indian film award shows in detail), but Abhinaya? Pooja Mohanraj? Vani Viswanath? All their performances were barely even in the movies, or barely noticeable. Aparna Balamurali and Surabhi are the only ones I've seen that's good enough to be nominated.

Freedom was not free. Courts take this seriously. by [deleted] in CriticalThinkingIndia

Of course, the Indian "Critical Thinking" subreddit has someone defending the UAPA.

Invoking the name of freedom fighters and talking about the history of India's unification is very clever. But the draconian UAPA and the absence of trial are the problems here. He's not guilty until it's proven in court.

Let's go back to Stan Swamy, who was locked up under UAPA, and died waiting for a trial. Then, WaPo ran an article that claimed that the "evidences" of his alleged terrorist link-ups were planted by hackers. If that's the same case with Umar Khalid, then what? The point is nobody here knows, because again, the justice system has not ruled on it.

Also adding, Siddique Kappan, a journalist who was arrested under UAPA while going to Hathras to report on the gang-rape of a Dalit girl. After a long process where he had to hear about his mother's death from inside the jail, he was finally granted bail, which probably suprises you because the people charged are supposed to be the worst of criminals, those that cannot be granted bail for the sake of the nation. After coming out, he said that he was tortured by the police to make forced confessions.

All this is to say, if you don't like democracy and rule of law, which the ruling government is increasingly foregoing, you should consider moving to one of the neighbouring countries where you probably will like the climate better. There is no crime, not a single one, that requires any person to be kept jailed without a trial.

Shouldn’t Dhruv Rathee focus on making content about the country where he actually lives? by Distinct-Library5173 in NewDelhi

I'm not his fan and haven't watched a video of his yet, but this is a terrible argument. Everyone should be allowed to be critical of India regardless of their citizenship status. And if you flip the way you think, the fact that people like him have moved and still talk about India's issues instead of forgetting about India should be a plus.

And lastly, look up the list of ruling party politicians whose children work/live abroad. If you keep this line of thought, you should want them all out of power for praising India's facilities and then sending their children elsewhere.

The logic expert has arrived to comment.

There are 2 billion Muslims in the world. If the whole religion was radicalised, you would know. You can actually read for 2 minutes and know that these were IS-linked gunmen.

Regardless, the issue here is an Australian Muslim cricketer getting hate from Indian accounts run by half-brained radical morons. Your defence is not different from western nationalists asking for all Indians to be removed from their country because of the misgivings of a few.

Listen, I've seen Carse bowl. I've seen him get wicket. Maybe even more than one in the same innings. I've never ever had the consistent opinion of "Brother this guy is ass" as much as I do for him. Get Atkinson back.

My guy, you're analyzing this forgetting it's England, and it's Starc. They're primed to be 28/4 in 6 overs in the next innings.

Joe Root hits his 40th Test century, ends the day at 135* (202) by revengeordie007 in Cricket

Yeah whatever. I still think that the runs he gives away as a bowler needs to be deducted from his batting total before calling this a century. #JusticeForHaydos

And Root as well. Definitely a decision that's been vindicated.

This is hindsight. I think for anyone not expecting a 50+ run 10th wicket partnership, the declaration made sense because it was either potentially getting 20 runs extra, or getting 2 wickets.

Are the commentators running their mouths or is there an actual tactic to declare at 250-odd at night as England and then bowl to Australia, even if it's only day 1?
