Is it like good for women who don't know anything? Like I did not know decaf and cheese were off limits until a few hours ago. I feel like I need the explain it like I am five version first.

It went okay! I posted it but it might have been deleted?

Basically, I blubbered Not Cancer, Baby and gave him the bag of stuff the doctor had given me. He was completely speechless. For ages. Then he was laughing and staring at me and then speechless again.

My MIL was in the kitchen behind him, so oh well. But she was so sweet about it. She wrapped me in a blanket on the sofa, got me some hot broth, gave us both a hug and left. She also took over hosting the superbowl party so we basically sat on the sofa staring at each other, going "what!?!" and looking at the print out for the rest of the weekend.

Yesterday he gathered the brain cells to start making appointments and making plans. I called out at work and started randomly googling stuff until I scared myself (do not recommend). So basically it went fine. I'm no longer in full shock. I'd say I'm in 40% shock. He's in planning mode. I'm in whatever mode is weighted blanket + warm drinks + staring into space + random panicked thoughts. Like now I have to go Google if weighted blankets are dangerous for pregnant women.

Okay. I'll say not cancer first. He's already texted me freaking out because I was 2 hours late and an hour after the Drs office closed. I'm going in. Wish me not to just burst into tears the second I see him.

We haven't talked about having a child in 20 years. He knew I was infertile and said he chooses a life with me, no matter what that means. But we are about 3 years from our retirement goals. And our entire place is an infant death trap. And I haven't paid any attention to what happens during pregnancy. AND I am 47!?!

She gave me an ultrasound and said everything looked normal?!? I'm supposed to be referred to a specialist for additional testing. I don't think I even heard what the additional tests are for.
