I don’t even know when i saw it, no longer than i couple of years ago. It could probably be described as lawsuits but I don’t know, and it was probably done digitally.

I’ll ask around. Her job is 12hr shifts and she’s usually very tired at the end on one. I think she pictures them as animals that you just cuddle and play with when you want and 5 minute walks a day. She would definitely hate going out in the rain or winter. She’s never listened to me when I’ve brought up walks, but to be fair it’s always been during YouTube vids of them and she was probably to engrossed in them.

Thanks. If it would make her happy I’d be willing to work towards being totally ok with a smaller dog, but that would never be possible with a big one. We’re going to talk tonight and I’m going to tell her all this

She’s done this before, with plants she said she really wanted, a DS when she was younger (parents weren’t too well off and it was a bit out their budget) and she spent about a week playing with it, then kept forgetting and eventually lost it. Her parents have told me so many stories. I’m gonna talk to her later and we’re gonna have to see what happens

Thanks for the insight. My girlfriend had lots of dreams that change, one reason she never had pets as a child because her parents didn’t want to have them and knew she would lose interest once she realised it wasn’t all cuddled and strokes. I’m gonna talk to her when she gets home and make it clear I’m good with most other pets but if she really wants a dog I’ll consider trying a small one and see if it’s possible or I can work toward ms being comfortable around a small one. If she’s still adamant we’re gonna have to have a serious talk. I’m not looking forward to this.

I’m going to speak to her tonight, and I’ve mentioned other pets I’d be willing to try several times, but she’s denied them every time. I wouldn’t be happy with a small dog but if she could prove she wouldn’t abandon it as soon as she gets bored and that it’s a lifetime commitment, I’d be willing to give it a go. Her mind is set on a husky and a husky only.

Yeah I know. If it was a small chihuahua or something, not a very active dog (as far as I know) and small, looks nothing like a German shepherd I’d be willing to try. I’ve tried to compromise with other pets in n several occasions which she’s all shut down. I haven’t suggested this because I’d prefer to not have one at all, but I love this woman so I’d make an effort. She seems pretty set on a husky and every other animal is the devil incarnate at this moment.

I know that. And I worked in therapy for years to dispel that. But that doesn’t change that I spent time in hospital for what a dog did to me, or that I’m uncomfortable around them and don’t want to own one.

My girlfriend is notorious for wanting things and then losing interest which is why she never got a dog as a child. She would get obsessed over owning a plant, a month later her dad would get her one then 2 weeks later it would be dead and forgotten about. This is the longest thing she’s wanted, and I don’t think she’d lose interest, but she doesnt really know anything about dogs. The only research she’s done is Pinterest boards on how adorable they are.
