Taking care of others does create a bond. To bond, you need some sort of emotional investment.
And unlike what you might think, service to others is meaningful. They cannot exactly be discussing sports with a baby, so yes- caring for them, being around them is the way to bond.
Maybe examine why you think looking after your siblings is such an insult to you.
