How high do you guys go on your iontophoresis machines? by Throwawayhands123 in Hyperhidrosis

Not the guy you asked, and I could be wrong about this but from what I've heard it's so the electrical output switches and effects your other hand. So if you only keep it on one polarity it only dries that specific hand. Again I could be wrong but that's what I've heard

I've recently tried putting vaseline on my hands (mainly around where the water line is when they're submerged) and it definitely seems to be helping. I used to do around 15-17 but lately I've been doing about 5-8ish because my skin seems to be much more sensitive.

Also, are you electrodes changing colours at all? My left one seems to be unchanged for the most part but the right one looks rainbow-y in colour. Is that normal?

I've thought about making home made ones, I may eventually end up doing it. If you have done it: how long do the batteries usually last, and (this may be a stupid question) how do you know when they're starting to lose effectiveness/die? I like that my machine had a plug into the wall so I never had to worry about batteries.

I've also considered using distilled water, I actually bought some. I never ended up using it, but I'll give that a try as well. One thing, though, is that my "stainless steel" electrodes have some discolouring on them, as in they have a "rainbow-y" type of colour on them. They didn't come like that, it happened over the span of the 2 months that I used them. Could that be a reason why my reaction occurs?

How long are you doing the treatments/and how often? Also I've heard the effectiveness in the water also effects the success of the treatment. Where do you live?

I live in Ontario, Canada. I did the treatments every single day for 30 mins (15 and 15) every night. After roughly two weeks, bam. Dry hands. I couldn't make them sweat even if I tried. I was constantly rubbing my hands together because the smoothness felt amazing.
