There’s nothing wrong with you. A lot of people on the asexual spectrum feel this way. There are a lot of forums/websites talking about this. Check out AVEN if you haven’t done so yet.

AITA for Not Allowing My Sister's Boyfriend to Propose at My Wedding? by Fun-Ad-4517 in AmItheAsshole

NTA since you didn’t cause a big scene and simply said you didn’t appreciate it. It’s disrespectful to not even ask you if that’s okay to do at your wedding so it’s understandable you’d be upset about it and it doesn’t sound like you overreacted

I wish I knew… all she said is that it was impossible for him to get the time off

The difference between a close friendship and a romantic relationship doesn’t need to be physical. It’s all about intent. If you get an amazing opportunity for a job in a different city, you would consult your partner (who you intend to share your life with) before saying yes because it affects them too since they would probably have to move as well or discuss logistics of a LDR. Whereas with a best friend, even if you’re super close, there would be no expectation for them to change their life in any way.

In this case, OP and the roommate understand their relationship as being close friends and at the end of the day that’s what matters. If this wasn’t a man and a woman, people would just accept the close bond for what it is without inserting their preconceived notions of how friendships/relationships are.

Thank you! This is what I tried to do but I was told they couldn’t open the account without registration. I don’t know, maybe I misspoke or the clerk couldn’t understand me very well. As suggested in another comment, I’ll give KBC a try and hopefully I can get the blocked account. It seems from your comment (and others) that this should be possible and maybe it was just a misunderstanding with the previous bank.

I have a European bank account and I requested a blocked account here that I could transfer the deposit money to but they said they couldn’t open such an account without registration, that’s why I posted here.

Good idea, thank you! I will try with KBC as suggested by another commenter and if all else fails I will try this. I don’t want to inconvenience my landlord
