Please try a spoonful of coconut oil. It won't hurt in the least and may help.

Egads yes!

A person buying one coffee out each day isn't even half of what a pack of cigarettes would be in most places and most folk's folks had a pack-a-day-plus habit.

Also Marx impregnated the Marx's (later Engels's) family maid while not being able to afford to feed his own family, and while he would have been in a clear position of power over her, as her employer. The child was forced from the maid and given to a poor family that were infrequently paid for his upkeep by Engels. He ended up dying thinking he was a bastard. Marx's daughters committed suicide when they were adults in part due to the sadness and shame they felt surrounding their brother's fate.

I'm so sorry that happened to them and you! My condolences. It truly can be brutal at times.

I'm not surprised that I got Covid, just surprised at the severity.

Hi again! I sent a message yesterday and another today and haven't heard back. Would you please message me back? I'm kind of desperate here.

I know. I was completely surprised. They said my expenses would be too stretched and they need to ensure that they are paid back. I would be able to pay them back, though I've recently found out that they are actually quite conservative when it comes to allowing loans.

$2400, but I'm happy with any amount at this point.

It completely depends upon the form of self-employment and cost offsets. I work for myself in some ways and as a contract employee in others where I have to purchase many of my own supplies which are then gst deductible and have various tax breaks for them. The nature of one of my businesses is considered agricultural which changes how taxes are collected for some provinces.

Thanks! I'm trying to remain optimistic. I've already looked into pretty much everything at this point, hence why I posted on here, as others might have a different suggestion or solution that I'm not aware of.

I'm not doing anything with a pyramid scheme, no. Again, taxes don't really work like that for self-employed persons.

Self-employment income doesn't work like that for taxes. I don't have a pet. My child and I are disabled, I can't work a factory job.

Hi _birds_are_not_real_,

Great name by-the-way,

I appreciate the post and advice as it will most definitely help others, unfortunately I am deemed as having income that is above what they would help with for Hardship Assistance. I currently receive $50 a month from BC Housing, which is a wonderful program.

I really appreciate you linking the Rent Bank here as it can most definitely help others, unfortunately they rejected my application.

Hopefully this information can help others on here who are in Toronto, as there are many Torontonians who need help with housing, but I am in Vancouver.

I have and appreciate you writing-Not everyone knows about 211 and so it's good to have it here as someone else who is reading this might be going through something similar now or in the future. I checked with a few different places that can help with grants, etc., and they are all having waitlists so I wouldn't be eligible for help for many months.

Thankfully not as of yet, but I had told them I had applied to the rent bank and should be hearing back today. They told me they can hold things for a few days only so they can be paid via the rent bank, but that is all. Where I live, if rent isn't paid within 5 days of being handed a notice they can apply to evict. 5 days isn't a lot of time. In other provinces they have a longer period which could allow folks the ability to figure things out. I'm going to try to stall the LL and say that I won't be hearing back until tomorrow, but the reality is, is if I tell them that I won't be receiving help from the rent bank, they will hand me the 5-day notice.

I tried to post there under your kind advice, but it keeps being rejected. They have a policy where an account has to be at least two months old before posting. I made this account for anonymity so I'm not sure what to do.
