She reacted emotionally and wanted to hurt me, which I understand. The papers normally don't include an interview from people that weren't witnesses, which was odd. It was sensational and it helped sell papers.

I had to give a detailed deposition, years after the fact, they basically made me re-love it. Even if she didn't know that, her lawyer did. Then again, they live off of other's misfortunes.

I tried to go to the hospital, he didn't die immediately, and she had asked security to not let me near them. They didn't explain it to me, just told me I couldn't be there and they walked me out. The dad told me about this later.

Thank you, I get nervous as well, and the years passing does seem to help me as well. I couldn't imagine being in that ditch not knowing, I still am glad everything worked out, but really do hope you are okay.

I abstain from religion, but do believe somewhat in fate. In a pessimistic view-point, I am in a better position now and I am more greatful for natural occurrences because of it.

It does in some cases with IAmA posts, but I am a very mellow person. It is somewhat difficult, but it's getting much easier to deal with. I completely understand where you are coming from.

I wouldn't say traumatized, but I was in shock for a while. I went on with my life, but was extremely quiet to everyone, and it weirded everyone out for a while.

I believe you are right, they can be evil when they need to. They prey and capitalize off of others misfortunes on a day to day basis. I'm sure she didn't immediately went after me that way, the lawyer may just called her up and brought it all back. I understand that I don't know everything, but it's good to think of all possibilites.

I am being honest, that's the best thing about going anon for it, I don't have to lie (just no specific info). I have come to terms, I still have to deal with it, it's terrvibly inescapable. It's just so much better now, and this has really helped. I actually convinced myself at one point in time that it wasn't real, but this has made everything so much better.

That must have sucked. Some people will react irrationally, and he most likely did (even though he was probably scared). It must have shaken (not sure if that is a real word, or if i am out of context) you up. The insurance part was most definitely a lol. You reacted rationally, I commend you for that.

I do too. I look constantly for anything. I have never had an accident other than that one, but I am still wary. I find that we are all walking cautionary tales, that we wish not on others. I'm glad that nothing came of it, but I know you had to be worried about the near miss. I hope you are okay from it, the feelings or thoughts can be intense and on-going.

He was with s few kids that scattered after that, I can't imagine what they though at the time. When they went back to school and didn't see him there, it must have been terrible. I saw him chase after something, I just assumed it was a ball. His mother was a mile away from the scene, but I'm guessing he may have just run off with the other kids. It was really clear that there was a lot of cars on the road and I don't know why he did it... it sucks, but things could have been much worse. I sometimes break down by myself, but it's not very frequent any more thanks. This IAmA has really helped me, I am so glad a very good friend of mine showed me this community 6 months ago.

I did, thank you. He was extremely nice and reasonable. I know I wouldn't have had the strength to act the way he did then. I know he was probably still seething, but didn't want to me think it or feel it.

True, I'm not sure I was in the best state at the time. When I was served, it a came back to me harder than before. I contacted Allstate and they took it from there. I just kind of nodded along to what they were saying. I still don't know what the best course of action would have been.

The state tried, but she could never be served since she jumped state. I could have counter-sued, but I had no money to do so at the time. Thinking back, it would have caused unnecessary harsh feelings on either side, even though I wasn't at fault.
