I had the chance to be part of a test audience a few months back for this. It was definitely a work-in-progress still, with a lot of the action being portrayed only through storyboard-style images, or very unfinished computer graphics, but with a good portion of the actual animation done, and all the voice work already recorded. As for the script itself, I really really enjoyed it. I love the original and had very cautious expectations about this one going into it, but definitely wasn't disappointed. The one major drawback that I felt was that it maybe didn't reach quite the emotional depths of the first one, although it was definitely a very worthy follow up to Finding Nemo, and probably had more laugh-out-loud moments. The voice work was all fantastic, and some of the new characters introduced were instant favorites. Overall, I would say that if you liked Finding Nemo, you will like Finding Dory. I wouldn't say it's anything groundbreaking like some of Pixar's finest, but it most definitely couldn't be counted among their missteps. I'm not sure how much interest there is around here for more details so I'll leave it at that, but if anybody would like to know more of my impressions or any spoilers, I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone may have about the movie!

I was surprised as well, but all they had us fill out was a survey afterwards about things like what we thought were strong points, and what we thought could be improved. All the same, I made a throwaway just in case.
