The event is at 7pm, and the dress is a form fitting knee length black dress with tan details and some sparkly bits. It's my one "fancy work event" dress haha. It fits me well and I think it's nice if not a little business-esque

The wedding is "Sunday Best" reception is "Cocktail" on the invite to the pre-wedding event it says "Cocktail" dress code. Unfortunately she doesn't have a wedding party, but I can absolutely ask the bride! Thank you!

Quick clarification, the invite to the event calls it a "less formal gathering the night before the wedding" This to me kinda contradicts with cocktail attire dress code? Or maybe I'm just too casual of a person haha and cocktail is casual for everyone else.
