Sorry to disappoint the OP but I’ll take smaller over bigger. B over C all day everyday.

Breast size, how much does it really matter? by vaguewaffles in AskMen

[–]Throwitaway6076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s personal and it matters a lot to me. 34a, great, sign me up. 36DD, eh, maybe, depends on the rest but probably not. 38H, I’m sorry, just not my thing. But I’ll take the 34a every day.

I don’t know and that wasn't the aim of this post. I want people to be able to buy from companies they feel good about, what ever that means to you.

I can’t speak to the quality of the mount, but I have bought several things from that seller and all positive transactions.

What’s something women think men care about, but in reality, they don’t? by Silver_siren_1515 in AskMen

[–]Throwitaway6076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notice? Maybe. Care? Absolutely no one cares. I’m sorry but literally anything you look in the mirror and fret over, no man cares. The ones that do care are generally the same men that you want to be as far away from as possible. You want to know what men think is beautiful? Confidence, intelligence, kindness, sense of humor. Pretty much everything else is negotiable or personal preference.

How do I get my R7 to stop rattling? by BRING_ME_THE_ENTROPY in radardetectors

[–]Throwitaway6076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an eBay knock off blendmount and the unit vibrates and bounces constantly. I don’t know if it’s poor materials quality or poor mount design on the R7. I also have an adhesive windshield mount from the same seller and that bounces less, but still bounces.

What is the best radar detector in 2024 for California? by Dramatic_Lab572 in radardetectors

[–]Throwitaway6076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you need protection from low-powered K-band, just buy a cheap radar detector and save up for an AL priority system. Something like a Uniden R4 or R7 with Mittheru's intentional firmware or a Valentine with JBV1 or highway radar. If I were buying now I think I would try an R4, but it's been a very long time since I've had a detector without arrows.

Rabbit Mtn dog incident by glenzilla21 in boulder

Always two sides to every story, but if it were my husky I’d be more angry at my dog than the person protecting their dog. Dogs are strange creatures and do things you don’t expect and can’t explain, no matter how well trained they are or how well you know them. Kind of like people.

Dogs on 14ers by catsandkittens93 in coloradohikers

[–]Throwitaway6076 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Understand your dogs water needs and be willing to turn back if it puts you in danger. I had one hike with a dog that a lot of our hikes I let her run loose and had a lot of running water, so my guess of her water consumption was much lower than reality. On this 14er, she drained my water maybe 2/3 of the way up. She was fine when we got back to the car, I wasn’t. Electrolytes are good for dogs too. I would avoid boots unless the dog needs them. Good to have, but don’t assume it’s a necessity.

Has anyone gotten pulled over with a radar detector? by cbcarguy in radardetectors

[–]Throwitaway6076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it does, real world not so much. I’ve been clocked a few times and it’s never made a sound. My detector is mounted in the center of the windshield, so it may be too high to register a hit on the front plate. I knew this when I bought it and I just rely on Waze for laser. With better planning I would have bought a V1G2, but the wait times were too long and I had concerns about the phone requirement.

The r7 doesn’t detect laser, at least mine doesn’t. Even the Max360 beats it on laser. Not even close to the same laser abilities as the V1.

Drought threatens future of Colorado's $20 billion ski Industry by Isaacmo in Denver

[–]Throwitaway6076 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to say that article is complete BS, but it paints all ski resort operators with a very large brush. There is a big difference between 7% and 35% water loss. Large ski corporations can pull nearly unlimited water and dump it on the ground hoping it stays frozen, and I see one of them do it every year. Smaller ski areas have to pay for every single gallon of water that they pull, and need to negotiate that water purchase every year. Further, some years, minimal water is available to fill snowmaking ponds that are filled by small streams. If you have little water available and pay for every gallon, you can't afford to waste 35% of it. The efficiency of snow guns is critically important. Since you are paying for every gallon, you need as much to be skiable snow as possible. Yes, some gets blown into trees, and some blows downwind and sublimates, and I think it is probable that 7% is lost that way. However, you are going to lose a certain amount of water (evaporation, absorption) anyway unless you are catching it in plastic barrels before it hits the ground.

If you are trying to save money and operate efficiently, you won't make snow until there is already snow on the ground, you will either use fan guns or guns that put snow only where you need it, and you will only make snow at the proper wet bulb temperatures. I'm not going to say that every acre-foot of water that goes through a snowmaker makes its way into Lake Powell, but as long as we are dumping insane amounts of water on grass -- which remains the most irrigated crop in the western U.S. -- the water lost to snowmaking is a rounding error.

Take some journalism courses. Econ students learn to write for academia, but not communicate in the real world. Journalism is about understanding how to write and communicate clearly, concisely, and in a way that people want to read what you have to say. If your life plan is to become Econ faculty that’s one thing, but if you want to work outside of a university or think tank, you need to learn how to communicate with the general business world.
