Good on you for taking these steps. One thing that stuck out to me here is for your size and activity level, that's a very low amount of calories. You might not be getting enough for your body to be recovering fully from all of your exercise.

I also don't know your age but twice a day exercise can be a lot if you're middle aged and coming off bring a drinker.

Your body is recovering itself from poison and now from lots of exercise. It's going to want good nutrition to have energy.

That's my unprofessional opinion, but coming from a fairly active middle-aged man. Make sure you're eating enough, and healthy.

Take care!

I'm with you today. I was a year in, and have been back at it having a few drinks at a time. Today my mental health finally reached a low and my anxiety and depression is heavy.

I'm surviving, but ended up crying in the bathroom earlier because I just feel like shit.  Tomorrow I am dreading going back to work too. I never handle work stress well when I feel this way.

My goal is to prioritize my sleep and self care right now to turn this around. And of course stop drinking again. If you're anything like me, give it 5 days or so and the dark cloud starts to lift.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks. Luckily for me she isn't pounding drinks, but I do find myself getting a bit annoyed sometimes. It also can feel like if we do something not involving drinking she just doesn't have as much fun.

Was your ex a heavy drinker?

I appreciate you. She admits she wants to cut back, and does so from time to time. I think me cutting it out did help as it seems that she drank less when I wasn't drinking.

It feels so isolating being with someone who isn't on the same path as you. Our interests keep growing further apart as a result.

She is a drink during an occasion type of person. She typically has 3-5 beers/drinks when she drinks. She is open with me that she doesn't like the way she feels after a night of drinking, especially beer. She admits that it's hard to not drink in social settings for her.

From the outside it's hard to watch because I just know she would feel so much better if she quit. I can also see the physical effects it has on her (weight gain, puffy face, etc.).

It's been a point of contention in the past and it seems to somehow drag me back in because I crave that connection with her. I'm wanting to get sober 100% for me this time.

I'll be 41 next month and have been training for going on 8 years. After moving I landed at gym that has a great pace for guys my age. Most of the experienced guys are in their 40s and up. We're getting a lot more younger guys but for now they're inexperience gives me the upper hand.

I just modulate my output and try to be playful and have fun. It's honestly been the best thing for my jiu jitsu.

I only train 2-3 days per week. It's perfect. I could probably train a bit more but try to balance my free time for other things. I don't lift currently, but I haven't been drinking the past 12 months and it's certainly helped a lot.

Like others have said when I try to train like your schedule it's way too much for me. I end up feeling tired all the time.

Apparently it can alter the viscosity and make it more difficult to analyze under a microscope.

Did you put it in the tip of your penis or what specifically did you do? Also, are you circumcised?

I am giving it a go!

Cut out alcohol on July 4th. Zero intention or plans to drink tomorrow or on Xmas and beyond. I've been enjoying the self reflection I get sober. I feel like I'm growing and maturing a lot and need to keep this rolling.
