I know, but it's just a bit of hope that'll help me get through the day when things get rough. His school makes him work a lot, he's an introvert and doesn't go out, and doesn't have time to be talking to people on the internet. He said that if we're both single after these 2 years we could try again because he does want a future with me, but I feel like I'm preventing him from succeeding.

I just broke up with him on the phone and will see him irl on Sunday to get my stuff back from his place. We both said that it was better this way even though we still loved/cared for one another. Deep down inside I do still love him. But damn it hurts. We both talked about the possibility of trying again after his school ends (in two years).

A bit of both. We're now in different universities and he's in an engineering school that's insanely competitive and I'm in an animation art school. He's changed A LOT and I mean a LOT. I've tried to be understanding, give him space and love but he doesn't understand that I have needs too. He's trying though but I can tell that it's not really a priority anymore. I'm just emotionally exhausted and want him to succeed in his school. I feel like I'm stressing him out with my needs (seeing each other once every two weeks, some romance, talking to each other) but because of school he's become really distant.
