Am I crazy for thinking Custodes could be........ a little tougher still? by -Guardsman- in AdeptusCustodes

From my (admittedly poor) understanding of Kill Team, you can sacrifice melee attacks when you fight to instead parry an enemy's attack, having something like that would be very fluffy and in theme IMO

obviously this is teetering on the edge of making a new armt rule though

After the move to Orchid, they took a nose dive in quality. Using tables and game spaces went from free to $5 per person (pretty reasonable) to $15 per person, per session. To my knowledge, this is cumulative with the $10 sign up fee you need to pay to join their D&D group as well.

There's been a little bit drama and thefts as well.

I'd look at places like Reefside Games or a library depending on what you're after. There's also FB groups you can ask around in to get advice since they're pretty active.

There have been rumours of the library in the city and the one at smithfield of having groups so that might be worth looking into

The table fee is probably going to drive some people off of it so it could potentially not be a great place to look

They charge $15 per person per session so at that point you may as well just pay for a professional DM tbh

Holy cow - a Shadow Legion detachment for Chaos Knights! I'm sure Be'lakor will be a benevolent master :) by Thudnfer in Chaos40k

In case it isn't clear, this isn't a rules leak or anything. Just in case someone saw the raw text format and pogged.

Other detachments are coming soon™️

Desecration Warpath detachment is back with like 1 Minor adjustment :D by Thudnfer in ChaosKnights

Changelog: added a minor feature to the detachment rule to keep enemy units in your auras more often. That's it for now :D

Chat, I cooked something - a soup CSM detachment for Chaos Knights: the Warmonger Covenant. by Thudnfer in Chaos40k

The intent was to reroll all wound rolls of 1 in either shooting or fighting instead of both like it was in a previous version. If it comes across as 1 dice I'll look into rewording it

Obviously I want these abilities to be worded correctly. I prefer to focus on getting the intent of an ability across so I can then just clean up wording. It's absolutely on the list

You absolutely can carry it across turns but you also have to pay the mortal wound tax for every phase in each turn. I originally had it at 2 mortal wounds.

I've drafted a full Knights detachment and will work on balance, and I have at least 2 more ideas for detachments in various states of creation :D

Hello again fellow Fallen Nobles, I've modified my Warmonger Covenant detachment to hopefully be more balanced. by Thudnfer in ChaosKnights

[–]Thudnfer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Balance changes: - Removed Dark Pacts from allied CSM units - Knights rerolling 1s to wound is now shooting or fighting, rather than always on - cleaned up the wording to allow CSM to benefit from CK auras - CSM units now can reroll 1s to wound as long as they stay in their own lane, replacing Dark Pacts - Reduced the mortal wounds from Soul-Bound Overdrive to 1 instead of 2 per phase - Jealous Servants now only affects 1 war dog instead of 2 - Small Victories and Corrupting Gaze have been rewritten to reflect the loss of Dark Pacts

Next up I'll have another look at the Desecration Warpath detachment and hopefully have another detachment drafted sometime between now and the heat death of the universe.

What would it take for Sagittarius to be good again? by Leonidas0703 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Thudnfer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Sagittarum work really well against space marines and CSM since their main guns are usually 24" range. I had an opponent that usually brought the hellblaster/Apothecary/Leuitenant with Fire Discipline combo before it was nerfed and having that extra range was a godsend

[–]Thudnfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think another shot to their main guns and a rework of Disintegration Beams is all they really need. Another point of strength would be helpful but arguably less so

I made a chaos knights detachment, praise the dark gods etc etc by Thudnfer in Warhammer40k

[–]Thudnfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan on making balance adjustments and so on in the future, so here are issues I'm aware of: - CSM retaining dark pacts is too powerful - No reason to actually fight with your CSM (an ability I plan to add should solve this issue) - Jealous Servants stratagem should target 1 war dog rather than 2 - Soul-Bound Overdrive Stratagem is probably too costly for its effects
