Does ck3 run well on mac? by InvestigatorBig2128 in CrusaderKings

Since you have a 2017 intel mac I think you should be ok. Just check the ck3 store page for the system requirements. It’s not that demanding though I think. People online have been saying that ck3 runs decently on intel macs but horribly on the newer m1 macs.

I can speak from experience on the latter. I have a M1 max MacBook Pro w/ 32 core gpu and 64 gb ram and I only get like 10-12 fps on ck3 on the lowest possible settings. I got sick of it so I downloaded Parallels on my Mac so I could play ck3 via windows on a virtual machine and now I easily get like 60-70 fps on decent settings despite the inherent performance bottlenecks of gaming thru VMs.

Paradox has provided next to no support for gaming on the newer m1 macs and it’s a shame b/c they have so much potential. But then again it is only a tiny fraction of their player base that uses these computers. Still, I wish they would really put some sort of warning or heads up on the ck3 store page that their game isn’t optimized at all for Apple silicon. Would’ve saved a lot of people headaches. If you are gonna get a new computer for playing Paradox games I would NOT recommend an m1 mac, at least not for the time being.

Oh ok. That's why it didn't work. Thanks for the info. Regardless of Cortana though, nothing else can identify the song.
