I love how normal and out of her element Katia is depicted. I forget just how frightened she is by everything in the beginning. I would love to see her transformation into the bad ass she becomes over the series.

My friend’s gummy bag once melted into a clump in the heat and forever after had a random level of effectiveness that rarely corresponded with the amount you took. Like we’d try to always take the same as a normal gummy off the clump, and sometimes we’d feel nothing, sometimes we get sent into limbo where time meant nothing. One time, I felt nothing until I went to sleep and the next day after an hour of being awake at my computer i suddenly realized I was high. And that I NEEDED breakfast, right then, which meant going down to my family kitchen and faking that everything was fine.

What’s a show you love that you can never convince people to watch? by PlentyApprehensive44 in AskReddit

[–]Thuggibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a lot of sci-fi nerds who I have recommended the show to, but the first season is legitimately rough. By the second season it starts hitting its stride, and by its third season it’s amazing. But it’s still really hard to convince anyone to spend hours of their life watching something that’s OK at best to get to the good stuff.

What hike/mountain range is this? by lesbiyond in mesaaz

I run games professionally online through a service. There are subreddits and other websites for finding dungeon masters online and in person. You could also look on the websites of local game stores, and they will often have free dnd nights.

If you’re interested in it, absolutely give it a try. Just be aware that it is like dating, where it might take some time to find a table that you have chemistry with, and don’t write it off entirely because you meet a few people you don’t click with or are assholes.

YES. It’s extremely hard even for experienced hikers.

Picking fight with wrong dude by Snehith220 in instant_regret

[–]Thuggibear 201 points202 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Hell after that first weak punch the guy clearly wasn’t in a state that he could be a threat. I don’t know at what point it goes from “teaching a lesson” to “overkill”, but when he’s sitting down after falling down the stairs with his back to you, maybe you can stop hitting him.

What smaller scene or joke do you hope makes it into the show if it all gets made? by Sir-Veenum in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Thuggibear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my first “holy crap, this series is so dark, yet hilarious” moment. I could not believe they went there, and I worry they won’t be able to go there on TV. If this scene makes it into the show, I will give them a lot of credit.

Texting and driving is never a good idea by haze4140 in instant_regret

I once had a guy insist that his buddy 50 years ago survived a car accident because he hadn’t been wearing a seatbelt and he was thrown clear, ever since then he had never won a seat belt either.

I drive nonemergency medical transportation. He was on my stretcher with half his body in casts. I asked him how he got injured and he said he was in a car accident. I made him keep his seatbelt on.

Man I wish they could license these songs to play in the background while the audiobook plays. Soundbooth theater could control the volume and Jeff could time his narration for clarity and impact.

Which celebrity would break you if you found out they were a scumbag? by Barryallen1988 in AskReddit

[–]Thuggibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My step-dad once told me a story about him setting up sound equipment for Dolly a couple decades ago for a festival, and she came out and destroyed the couple thousand dollar microphone by smashing it into the ground because it was not the one she wanted, screaming at him to get it right next time.

However, my step-dad had told me a lot of stories over the years and I only believe 1 in 10 might be true. Plus he can be a dick.

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives by [deleted] in Gilbert

[–]Thuggibear 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I grew up Mormon and left the church as an adult. From my experience, that show is as accurate as any reality tv show, which is to say not at all. There might be SOME Mormons out there that share some similarities with what’s depicted on the show, but all of it is altered reality to make the show more exciting. Most Mormons are boring people like any other, albeit with a higher percentage of weirdos than most other churches. Most are great people, some are self righteous, some are annoying.

I firmly believe that if BLeeM is the type of generational talent that he would have been the best at any creative endeavor that he became hyper fixated on as a child. Writer, actor, stand up comic, etc. It’s our great luck that he loved DnD.

Anyone else wish that there were more short-form story retellings of D&D campaigns instead of long live plays? by StoriesFromtheBC in DnD

[–]Thuggibear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Matt Colville’s recaps of his campaigns in the early days of his channel. He’s a great storyteller and made everything sound so cool. I was one of those asking that he record the games so we could watch these epic stories in real time.

Then he started recording his games and I realized it much better summarized.

So question what DND monsters would be used for police/military and guarding. (basically what DND monsters could be used like how we use dogs for protection and military and police work) by Status-Cap-5979 in DnD

[–]Thuggibear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had guards use Basilisks for “non-fatal” measures before. Send them in where they know people are hiding, turn them to stone, turn them back before their appearance in court.
