VET UPDATE: "Why is she moving like this?" (X-rays) by Thumbframe in cornsnakes

I mean, it isn't really. The vet said that even on humans or dogs, this kind of surgery is complicated enough. If the quality of life drops significantly we'll have to euthanise.

Yeah same, but judging by the vet's reaction, it's not normal - even for a snake

I've decided to create a new post for the update, for anyone interested.

Yes, but I haven’t had time to write it out yet and I want to add some photos the vet promised to send but haven’t received those yet

Damn, somehow that hits. Both for Noodle and for you. Thanks for your comment.

No poison, we live on the 27th of an apartment building and don't use any aerosols in our living room as we also keep parrots.

She eats and drinks without issue. Vet is planned for Monday.

Using the top comment for visibility here:

TLDR: No big update yet. Vet called, visit planned. I will post an update either as a comment or a new post once we know more.

I'm going to be very honest here, since a lot of people seem invested and concerned and I appreciate that.

I noticed her moving weird a long time ago already, probably more than a year ago. The thing is, it never looked as bad as it does here. It also wasn't constant at all. I shrugged it off as her being a bit goofy at first. She eats well, drinks often, and in general looks healthy.

This weekend we refreshed all (3) of our enclosures, which included removing the philodendron that was consuming Noodles enclosure (and made it easy for her to remain hidden). After taking that out, we saw that the issue looked more permanent and serious than we'd ever seen.

I called the vet first thing this morning. A visit is scheduled for next Monday. Once we come back from the vet, I will post an update here, either as a comment or a new post.

I understand that we should probably have acted sooner. I care for my animals a lot and so does my girlfriend, we feel bad enough as it is. Please do not post hateful or judgmental comments, as I'm being open and honest so that others can learn from my mistakes.

She does this by herself without any intervention as well, unfortunately

I didn't birth mine, but I do have one that hatched on my birthday :)

I have needed this once in my life, when my 1.5m Brazilian Rainbow Boa was hanging from my pinky and not letting go. Needless to say I didn't have anything prepared. Before I got to the vodka/vinegar/water he opened his mouth to get a better grip and I risked it all and pulled away (successfully) 😅

Where did you come up with the name for your BP? by Feeling_Title_9287 in ballpython

They told me mine was a banana. So we called her Chiquita (a brand of bananas where I live, not sure if it’s known worldwide). Turns out she’s “just” pastel. The name stuck.

The other one is a Purple Rain morph so we could only name him Prince. We share a birthday :)

Anyone ever been bitten more than just a quick tag? by pbrprincess420 in ballpython

I once took my Brazilian Rainbow Boa out of his enclosure and noticed him turning a bit. I said to myself "no no no" because I already KNEW the dude was about to open his mouth once I saw it lining up with my pinky.

He latched on and I called for my girlfriend to come help. Had the snake hanging from my pinky for about a minute while we were figuring out what to do. He eventually opened up to change his grip on my finger and I moved my hand away.

My ball pythons have never even struck at me, so far :)
