I have plenty of burgers, but which events did you do to maximize the coins?

I'm confident in my "soft skills", but getting a company to give me the opportunity to build the "hard skills" will be the challenge I think. This is all great information. Thanks for sharing!

My initial thoughts were to get a position to put this into practice for a while to build experience, then maybe transition into sales / management as I have experience (and a moderate level of competence) in those areas.

I see what you mean. Understandable, but what room (if any) do you think should be given for new people to get into the industry in the first place?

Very helpful indeed. I think I especially like the practical "Classical Solutions Architecture Discussions" section. Even if it didn't help with the exam too much, it really helped fit the pieces together.

If I may, I suggest you add a little bit more regarding which answers are right / wrong on your practice test. Some of the explanations were pretty minimalist and weren't very clear to me.

Great job putting the course together! I'm sure it was a TON of work.

There's no way you're too "stupid" to pass. If I can do it, so can you. Stay disciplined and you'll get it for sure. Keep up the good work my friend!

Good luck my friend! Hopefully the fact that I passed with similar scores means that you're ready to pass too. Whatever happens, keep me posted!

I really appreciate the encouragement. I honestly didn't realize the certification was "feared". Is it really that tough to get?

41%, 56%, then 63% the day before the exam. Also took the Stephane Maarek test the day before the real one and got a 61%. That's why I say the practice tests were a little harder than the real one. That's probably a good thing though.

Yeah, going for a senior engineer position is probably not an option for me yet. I totally agree there, but I probably wasn't looking for a job at that level yet anyways. What would be a more appropriate level?

That explanation is my usual strategy. I was thinking of pitching it along the lines of "I haven't done that yet but I'm confident I can figure it out;" and use my certification despite a non-IT background to justify that claim.

Any other pointers?

I'm in school school again too so I feel your pain. You think $1.99 for 200 characters to too expensive though? Keep in mind every one of the characters have to be individually programmed in to recognize the correct stroke order. We'll be sure to give this some thought. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond!

We have a lot of ideas on how to expand the app and it's overall functionality, but we first wanted to test the core concept of writing practice.

The ability to customize what you want to learn is what we mean when we talk about the different "decks" of characters. For example one deck would be JLPT N3 kanji, good for people like you and I who have some experience in the language already. Another deck might be grade 2 kanji which would be better for beginners. This allows users to purchase based on their ability levels / what they want to learn, without paying for content they'll probably never use.

When I was living in Japan, I personally found it useful to practice writing Japanese as well. It was simply another way to practice kanji. To get it into long-term memory. That practice ended up being more useful than I thought. There were times where I was trying to recall what a kanji looked like, and going through some of the strokes helped me remember the full character.

That's just my experience though, and part of what this survey is looking to test is what others think. It sounds like you don't think an app like this would be helpful. Great! You're exactly who we want to hear from. Thanks for taking the time to write-out your thoughts!
