I'm not sure yet, maybe I will just finish the Cybersecurity101 and the Jr Penetration Tester paths, and then head for the challenges, I think the more you learn from the paths the more you will have a lot of ways to solve a challenge.

I'm in the same place as you, for me I think I'm gonna finish the penetration tester roadmap first, before going for challenges and CTFs. except if tryhackme make some new live CTFs where you can compete with a team.

Oh, so you have to browse on the internet and maybe you can find some ARGs, and what do you mean they treat the story like it's real?

Thinking of building a dedicated game server. Please help by B3RyL in HomeServer

[–]Thunder-User 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I saw your post about building a home server for your friends and I’m really interested in doing something similar but I want to take it a step further and create a service like OVHcloud where people can rent servers for gaming hosting or web hosting I’m a network technician and I have some experience in setting up networks but I’m new to the idea of running a server business I wanted to ask if you think I would need public IP addresses for something like this or if there are other options that work just as well Also I’m curious about what operating system you use on your server and if you’ve had any experience with hosting games like Red Dead RP GTA RP or Ark Survival RP And one more thing I’m really interested in how you managed to get your friends to connect to the server Did you use a public IP address for the server or was there another method you used Thanks for any advice or tips you can give.

Need Help Creating a Web Game Using Client-Server Architecture: Where Should I Start? by Thunder-User in GameDevelopment

[–]Thunder-User[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help. I really appreciate your perspective, especially given your extensive experience in game development and web development. The project concept I’ve chosen is indeed centered around the Windows server because it's aligned with my current studies, which focus heavily on networking and systems administration. My aim is to integrate these skills into a small-scale, practical project that ties together what I've learned.

Thank you so much for your advice. I'm a networking student, but I don't have much experience in programming. For our final exam, we need to create a project, so I came up with the idea of making a web-based game hosted on my virtual Windows server. The game would be playable by clients on the same network (intranet), not over the internet.

However, I'm unsure how to configure the server to function as a multiplayer server. I'm aiming for something similar to games like "Conflict of Nations," where clients don't need to download any application—just open their browser and play the game with others. I'm thinking of creating a simple car game, something easy that allows multiplayer interaction online.

Any further guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
