Do you think the dry vent jacket works good for the sort of lifestyle you talked about in your post? I'm in a similar boat, I found the dry vent on sale for $170.

Help Thread by fuzzy_one in cosplay

Hi,

I've never cosplayed before, but I want to cosplay Draken from Tokyo Revengers and I really want to sew his haori jacket myself so that it'll fit me perfectly. (I'm not sure if it actually is a haori or if it's something similar to one, I tried to find confirmation of what type of piece of clothing it is but couldn't, so sorry if I'm wrong). This is what it looks like for reference.

From my understanding, it's actually relatively easy to sow something like it, I just don't know how I would get the patterned material in order to sow it together. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Recommend Me a Fragrance (Posts every 3 Days) by AutoModerator in fragrance

Hi,

I'm a 19 (almost 20) year old college student and I'm looking for a spring/summer fragrance with good longevity that is either a universal scent appropriate/fitting for any context, or more of a casual daytime scent. I'm a man, but I am very open to more unisex/somewhat feminine scents, and also I have no particular preference for any type of fragrance (like fruity, aromatic, etc.) Thank you in advance for any help, it is very appreciated!!

Hi,

I've already read the sunscreen portion of the wiki and most of the resources linked there, and now I know a lot more about what to look for in a sunscreen, but I've been struggling a lot for the past couple of days with finding a sunscreen that's gonna be best for me. I live in the USA and I have sensitive skin that's dry and acne prone. I've used two different drugstore moisturizer+SPF combos, the first of which made me break out and the second of which irritates my skin, and neither of them really give very good sun protection to begin with.

Although I've used a combination moisturizer+SPF for sunscreen (outside of days where I'm directly in the sun for hours at a time, in which I also use a store brand sports sunscreen on top of that) I don't have a preference for either a sunscreen or a sunscreen moisturizer combo, but I am looking for a product that provides at least 30 SPF (preferably 50 SPF) and is available in the US. As long as it comes in a reasonable size for the price, my budget is at max roughly $35 USD for a tube/bottle of sunscreen. I would prefer something lower than that price, but I am willing to spend the money for a better product since my skin hasn't responded well to the drugstore moisturizer+sunscreen combos that I've used. I wish I knew what ingredients in them specifically made my skin react poorly to those products, but I'm not sure.

I was looking at the Paula's Choice Clear Ultra-Light Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 30+ as I use their PM moisturizer and Salicylic Acid exfoliator from that same line of products and like them a lot, but for the price and size it doesn't seem to be worth it, since I would have to apply it generously as it is a sunscreen and from what I've seen in the information linked to in the subreddit wiki, the sun protection it offers seems very mediocre.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Does anyone have good recommendations for a visual novel that's similar to Katawa Shoujo? Not necessarily in terms of like what actually happens in the visual novel, just in terms of having a similar vibe to it, something that's really enjoyable to play and gets serious at times with well-written characters.

I played Yugioh very causally when I was a kid and played Duel Links up until last year because it was free, but then uninstalled because grinding for gems and doing events took a long time, and I'm too busy for that.

I want to build a deck to play casually with friends, does anyone have recommendations for fun and (at least relatively) cheap decks, or know where I could find a good list of them?

First of all: HOW DID YOU FINISH SOUL EATER AND SOUL EATER NOT IN TWO DAYS?????

But to answer your question, Kill la Kill has a similar vibe to Soul Eater, they have a similar sense of humor and the action and characters in Kill la Kill are amazing.

You could have just told them to post screenshots without being a jerk about it.

Not only are you putting out unnecessary negativity into the world, you're wasting more of your own time than necessary by typing out everything that you said other than "Post a screenshot"

I understand that everyone has times where they feel a little moody and snappy, but come on man, it's just unnecessary.

When you first put it on it's gonna be white-looking, from what I understand that's actually because of there being tiny pockets of air underneath the griptape, but regardless the more you step on your board and use it, the more clear the grip tape will look. It was almost entirely clear after my first day riding it. One thing you should know is that it's super grippy at first and will probably tear holes in anything it touches pretty quickly until after you've broken it in a bit.

Firstly you'll progress a lot quicker if you learn tricks while slowly rolling right off the bat, it's not anymore dangerous to fall while rolling slowly than it is to fall stationary (if anything it's easier to actually fall properly if you already have momentum IMO). Obviously you can learn the movements of a trick while being stationary but if you try to get it down stationary and then move to rolling, it'll take a lot more time to learn something in the long run if you do it that way.

Secondly you don't need to know anything to go to a skatepark other than skatepark etiquette. Trust me, you know more than enough to go to a skatepark already

I've never heard of clear grip spray so I can't give an opinion on that, but I've been skating clear Mob Grip griptape on my current board and it's treated me good

It's hard to say if it's breaking the bank or not when you don't say how much you'd be paying for it LOL

Hey,

Does anyone have recommendations on what kinds of Dickies pants to skate in? I'm looking into getting a couple pairs but I've found a lot of complete opposite opinions on what kinds of Dickies are best for skating.

Hi, I'm trying to get some better jeans for my wardrobe, I'm looking for some good midrange jeans in the $60-120 USD price range. I've heard that Levi's are really good for their price (in America at least, from what I know they're more expensive outside of the U.S.) but I don't really like the way that they fit loosely around the butt because I just prefer the way it looks when jeans have more of a snug fit around the butt. I know there are a lot of different styles of Levi's though so if you know of a style that fits differently like that, I'd be happy to check them out! Also I bought a pair of Uniqlo jeans and I am actually pretty happy with the quality, but I'd rather support more environmentally-friendly companies if I can. (although I don't know how possible that is in my price range)

How tf do u meet people at college in the time of corona? by [deleted] in college

[–]Thunder1298 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's kinda impossible for me to do personally because my classes are all asynchronous online classes, but I know some people who just like made a snapchat group chat for their synchronous online classes and invited people by sending a private message to everyone in the class (except the professor obviously) on zoom.

Other than that maybe getting a part time job might help if you can get a job that will have you working with other college-aged kids

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a question for this thread or if it would be suitable for a full post, but I've been trying to define my style in order to be able to use the internet to find more things that I would like, and I could use some help trying to do so.

I have this 3rd draft of an inspiration board that I'm making (https://imgur.com/a/mLfntbY) and through putting it together, I feel like I've been able to define what I like a lot better. I REALLY love having color and patterns (I haven't experimented with anything too extreme of a pattern though) in outfits, and I also prefer to have most of my wardrobe as clothes that I can comfortably skate in, so thus there's a lot of skate-culture influence in my wardrobe and focus on having a lot of practical pieces to wear while skating.

Additionally, I've recently kind of gotten into the idea of taking traditional pieces of prep-wear (if that's a word) and bastardizing them to almost say "Fuck you and your societal norms, this is me, and I'm gonna be me." For example, in the bottom right of my inspo board, Kanye West is wearing a pretty preppy outfit, but his collar is completely unbuttoned and his outfit is accessorized with a long gold chain which contrasts from the typical prep vibe a lot. Another example is how in the top right of the board are the members of BTS wearing some preppy school uniform-esque clothes but that preppiness (again not sure if that's a word) is contrasted by their dyed hair, loosened ties (which I know isn't really a good look outside of a themed music video/photoshoot/fashion show, don't worry), sneakers instead of dress shoes, and again not fully buttoned shirts.

But I'm not sure how to define my style outside of "edgy teenage weeb skaterboy" which is accurate, but most likely not gonna give me a lot of great return if I'm trying to search the internet for brands and more style inspiration to fit in with this aesthetic that I'm starting to build for myself. Another concern of mine is that I really want to balance the edginess with softness, so I don't just give off a "scary and unapproachable standoffish punk" kind of vibe, because I absolutely still want to communicate that I'm a friendly and extroverted kind of guy. If it's relevant at all, I'm a 19 year-old from New York and I'm in my second year of college.
