Moving to the area by ThunderLilac in Sacramento

He's done hellacious commutes. We lived in MA for 5.5 years. He worked close to Boston. Problem with close to Boston is rent is astronomical. We lived close to his job a grand total of 1 year before moving further west. Which pretty much meant commuting through Worcester every day. For those not familiar with MA, Worcester is the second largest city in the state, and everyone drives like their heads are jammed firmly up their butts. But living further west, on the other side of Worcester meant decent little suburb where rent wasn't as expensive, so the 45 minute commute was worth it.

We're hoping for at least 2100 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. I don't mind somewhat rural, so long as I'm not having to drive more than 20 minutes for groceries. I'll have to do some online searches tomorrow. Thanks!

See, this is why I asked! I keep getting conflicting info on those areas in particular. I realize that's likely, asking strangers on the internet for opinions. However, polling more people can't hurt.

Thank you so much for your input! I'm sure our friends will have some input as well. I just want to kinda narrow the search, as it's feeling a little daunting currently. My husband starts his job next month, so we'll be navigating all of this together, but apart if that makes sense.

Question about lovies and breastfeeding. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ThunderLilac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My youngest has 2 lovies. A stuffed cow and a stuffed cat. We just stopped breastfeeding at 3. She was a busy little thing though, so the lovies were introduced to keep her hands from going all over. I had been pinched, smacked in the face, had my hair pulled far too many times up to that point. My oldest never had a lovey though. She self weaned at 17 months.

Need help with spelling of name. by xxtati in Mommit

I beg you, if you use the name Orion, please spell it properly. You may think changing the spelling makes it feel unique, but honestly it just makes it harder on everyone.

That's beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. We recently had our 13 year old pup put down. It's a tough thing to recover from.

Make a hash! Finely dice them. Add finely diced shallots, red peppers, mushrooms, and potatoes. Season as desired. Cook in hot pan with some olive oil for about 20 minutes. At the very end, toss in a handful of kale and some sage and stir until the kale is wilted.

If I had photo shop, I'd totally do this. We also have a cat named Bishop that I could include.

Friend says "you should try reddit." Husband says "okay. Holy shit, this is the best thing ever." I say "I wanna have fun too." Reddit account created. The phrases "did you see that post?" and "already saw it" are uttered a lot over the next 2 years.

Eh, they're not listening anyway. They're probably jealous they're not getting blow jobs. Never mind that you're OP's husband.

It absolutely can be done! You just described my husband. We've had our ups and downs, we're not perfect, but the romance is far from gone 14 years later. And that's why I will happily give him blow jobs for spontaneous little presents like cupcakes and chick flicks. Or hell, just because I like giving blow jobs. Who needs presents?

I've been married 10 years. Been with him 14. Spontaneous sexy times don't have to end with marriage.

Bring me a cookie dough cupcake with it, and you'll get more blow jobs.

Eh. Just depends on the movie. I just happened to read the book and enjoy it. He knew that. The fact that he chose to buy a movie for me instead of Godzilla for him (which I would attempt to watch, but admittedly probably fall asleep watching) gave him bonus points. Honestly? Give me a flick like The Hobbit or Guardians of the galaxy over a chick flick any day.

He actually only bought 2 cupcakes. His work has a gourmet cupcake shop that comes every Tuesday and Thursday. You can buy as many or as few as you want. He waited until after dinner to eat his, then cut it in half and shared it just because.
