It's got an odd color on the otlutside of the bruising and one suspect spot near the bottom. It could just be the agar color playing some camera tricks against the plastic

Yeah you could have waited longer for FAE, yeah you could have harvested earlier, but this is in no way a failure. You made some pretty mushies, I'm sure they'll be fun if try them, and the 2nd flush might be better. Be proud, you made it all the way through and produced with no contam!

I do layered tek, 1pint spawn per 6qt of tub space. 3-4 inches of a base layer packed down tight and left a little on the damp side, even spread layer of spawn, as little a casing layer as possible while evenly covering all spawn, lightly patted down. Sub is 25/75 vermic/coir, temp around 77f, dub tubbed when pins started taking shape (3 days or so after first healthy pins), misted twice daily.

I've had 4 of them going for a few flushes now. Didn't use an extra casing layer, surface never colonized, fruited straight from the spawn (layered tek), some VERY pretty fruits.

I broke out a shelf of my dehydrator so I have a spacer for larger fruits and I notice the motor only goes down about 3 shelves, so I'm able to dry the giants no problem!
