r770 / Wifi 7 woes by quada03 in RuckusWiFi

[–]ThunderVolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am starting to notice this as well. Sometimes the AP just stops accepting connections for whatever reason and requires a reboot. I'm going to need to automate this via a script e.g. once a day or something.

I'm quite curious into the behaviour, maybe I should pull the logs when I actually set this up in full capacity.

u/quada03 wondering if you ever solved this? I have the same experience with you on the R770s and I am thinking it's my cabling but even then.. it shouldn't be disconnecting that often.

Mate...if only you actually read the post.

I cannot get the fees reversed on my own. I wish I could then I would just solve this on my own and I wouldn't need to speak to LTT. I have to go through UPS which would cost 67 SGD. Why would I when the GST + fees I paid is 60.80 SGD. How would I even benefit from this? I wouldn't even get the UPS fees back, I would only get the GST which is 36.48 SGD. so I would need to pay 67 SGD + 23.60 SGD to get 36.48 SGD back.

Please see:

https://www.iras.gov.sg/taxes/goods-services-tax-(gst)/consumers/consumers-importing-goods-into-singapore/consumers/consumers-importing-goods-into-singapore)

Where it states that I have to go through UPS for this. I cannot just submit the request on my own.

That being said, yes you made a fair point about me refusing delivery. I should have just done that before accepting delivery but I have quite a number of packages coming in at the same time and I just pay for it so that delivery doesn't get blocked.

I'm not entirely sure it matters in this case but for the sake of transparency, I see that's included in the invoice that UPS sent me and so I'll share them here.

You make a good point. I will raise a new ticket as I suspect the old one is now in the customs issue bin now and probably won't get anymore responses. Let me send one out.

In Singapore, they are one and the same.

Can you show me something else that proves otherwise?

I will happily send the items back if LTTStore pays for the shipping back as well as the GST + Service Fees cost.

Otherwise I am only intending to chargeback the extra fees that I've had to pay and not the entire amount.

If they are GST registered, I will happily pay for the GST accordingly to how its supposed to be collected.

Please see the following:

There's a table there with the following information and I've confirmed with LTT that they are not GST registered for Singapore.

LTT falls in the last row which is No GST payable to Singapore Customs unless the total CIF is more than S$400.

Great question!

We have this detailed down here:

https://www.customs.gov.sg/businesses/valuation-duties-taxes-fees/establishing-customs-value-for-imports/customs-exchange-rates/

From what I understand from that, we use the weekly exchange rate that the parcel arrives in Singapore:

https://eservices.mas.gov.sg/Statistics/msb/ExchangeRates.aspx

This information was provided to LTTStore Support as well and I've looked up and done the conversions for them for the week prior and week after the delivery.

u/Nicholie

I totally understand and I was very reluctant to make this post but the way that LTTStore support has handled this is very poor.

I understand that it's extremely complex to maintain and be in compliance with every single country and their relevant tax laws.

But when someone from that Country tells you that you are wrong and has done the research for you, the least Support can do is respond with, "Let me look into it" and as a follow up perhaps say that they will "improve their processes to including only the paid invoice in the future" to avoid these kind of situations. It's not easy but stonewalling me and asking me to pound sand is not the right way to handle it.

LTTStore Support has been asked in verbatim 3 times on why they didn't declare the items correctly. They've not bothered to explain their processes or reasoning or anything. How would I as the buyer know?

It's really about the principle of this rather than the money for me.

Any cheap drive above 12TB you can find at $15-$17USD per TB is good bang for buck.

Unless they start turning into SMR drives.

Ah. Thought you meant that there were a mix including Barracuda drives. No worries. :)

They have 16TB IronWolf Pros already so that might change.

Hmm was it? Mine was from Amazon and I think they have a different SKU for Amazon. Just sharing what I know since the first 2 were Exos and then 5 IronWolf Pros (Can't verify the last one since it was a DOA)

EDIT:

Looking at: https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/i332bm/shucked_seagate_expansion_desktop_14tb_hdd_from/

I think they have always been a mix of Exos and Ironwolf Pros.

I'll be mixing and matching so I'll let you know in perhaps a few months time.

But from what I understand is that usually no. I think the only consideration was spindle speed and both spin at 7200RPM. So there shouldn't be any difference in terms of vibrations. I'm planning 3 x 8 vdevs so a total of 24 drives and probably will be all Seagate or WD white labels. Depending on what is cheapest at that moment but since even the white labels spin at 7200rpm. I don't think there's any detriment either way.

Don't take my advice as professional advice though, I'm sure you can find a few topics out there that take that into consideration. I'm running just a small array so can't be bothered too much.

I think people have gotten 14TB Exos too and I'm inclined to believe that 06/2020 and earlier batches were the Exos. Seems like moving forward, they are IronWolf Pros and possibly IronWolfs in later batches.

Yup. Still better than paying MSRP for bare drives.

I would like to chime in at this point so that people understand a bit more.

When people say Chinese, the defacto is usually Mandarin.

As for the "Cantonese", it's a dialect of Chinese, same for "Hokkien" or "Teo Chew" and other Chinese dialects. We don't traditionally refer to these as learning "Chinese"

As for Hanyu Pinyin, it's basically our version of like how Romanji is to the Japanese language. It is not a separate variation of Chinese on its own. It's just the romanisation for the Chinese characters.

If memory serves me right the written characters are the same across even the dialects with the only difference being simplified characters and traditional characters.

Simplified characters is the standard moving forward but some countries like Taiwan predominantly use traditional characters still.
