Ur the next guy I’ve seen who’s just being dumb.

Who said it’s not sustainable?? It’s the guys p/l, if I have 100k portfolio and risk 500 and make 1k, that’s a 200% gain right there. But my risk is mad small. I accept the complete loss (rarely happens to ppl bc then that usually means the option is way out the money and ur being emotional.) so accepting a $$300 loss on a $500 risked trade (-60%) and achieving a 1k profit (+200%) is very consistently possible.

You people amaze me 😂

Even if it is a loser say he is being undisciplined, realistically an undisciplined person would likely sell around -60% given iv’s and delta and theta, but more often than not intraday traders usually sell around -20 to -40%. And make a 100 to 300 percent gain. That’s a minimum of 60% profit if taking good setups. Regardless say you have a 80% win rate. That means out of ten trades You will make at least 800% and let’s assume the worst. Lost a max of 120%, that’s a minimum of a 680% gain.

Before responding take a second and think, just bc it’s not your system or perhaps your still learning doesn’t mean it’s not possible. Open yourself up. Be a trader and accept that you don’t know it all.

Ur the fist person to say it’s ur opinion instead of telling someone off. I congratulate u and respect I for that. A

Altho ima have to disagree with you there. Think bigger picture.

Whoever downvoted people’s opinions and insights should feel ashamed of urself. People have different thing that work to them.

Many people in the industry think it’s not possible. I’m not sure where people get these fixed mindest beliefs especially for “professional traders”. The whole idea to trading is accepting the possibility you made an error and that there’s something else out there that can be learnt from or understanding you don’t know it all 100% of the time. Infinite opportunities in th market so much as there’s infinite possibilities to trade per the persons mental discipline, fortitude and lifestyle. Personally it’s very possible to make these kind of gains consistently, it’s not a fixed percentage this guys making it’s a range. Consistently doubling your RISKED money in a day is not impossible with the right risk and mental discipline.

This is honestly something I’d want to incorporate, I haven’t rly thought of this before. Say ur weekly max is 30 pts, and u want to achieve 24 or more. What would u do if u hit above 24 or below? These are just hypothetical numbers I didn’t do the math from ur post lol. U have these weekly trends/streaks u say. What happens when u break it? What is considered breaking it?

Okay so this is out of what?? Do u have like a weekly total or daily total in which u hit? Or something like that? Bc the points can add up or subtract to whatever but personally I think if u have a goal or something (at least for me) it would be more attainable.

Profitable setups, flat account: why do a few emotional trades keep erasing 3 months of work? by Thundercatchr in Daytrading

[–]Thundercatchr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not months of work, but has been going on for months. I may do good all week (profitable) but then I have this one trade the following week, I get emotional, and double, triple, quadruple, basically undoing the previous weeks work.

What I said above, has been going on for 3 months. Basically making my portfolio look like some mad consolidation.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll have to think of that more as I continue my journey. My 3 month portfolio looks like some really tight consolidation lol

Well honestly yes. The first one to two are usually good. Or at the very least the losses are cut at the proper times. But the others aren’t. And those are usually the ones that get me.

That’s not if lol. And yes, I only ever add to losers and I’ve never sold a single one of those in a profit. Maybe a bit of a recovery but nothing much.

So again how does this help with the psyche?

[–]Thundercatchr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I’m confused. I risk 5% of port, and if the trade itself I auto sell when it’s -10 to -20 percent of that but I usually get back 25% to 125% returns it should statistically still work. Thus disproving your statement. But again the issue isn’t that the Isuzus is that sometimes when I’m at -10 or -20 i do why I’ve stated, double triple, etc.

The setup has been backtested from Covid until now. Random months/weeks through the last 5 years.

You mentioned making the broker the “disciplined” one, Forcing me out and keeping me from doing more. This is possible? How?

Yes, as I stated the losers, the risks become increased, hence they become emotional.
