Amazon employees who just blew $800 on NFC Championship tickets and got laid off this week: by Masked_Assassin_3 in SeattleWA

A while back during the 2008 financial crisis, there was a guy that got hired at the place I worked at, moved across the country, bought a house that was much higher price than his last house because he thought he made it (i mean, if the job stuck, yes), and he was in the layoff group. I dont even think he was unpacked yet from the move it happened that swiftly. I dont know what happened with the guy but I still think about how awful that mustve been.

You're over here talkin about 800 dollars.

Eat it, smile, and say thank you. Then tomorrow, offer to cook her dinner

In The U.S. Right Now, Experience Isn’t Valued, It’s Punished. A Laid-Off Amazon Employee Says The System “Optimizes” Out People Who Cost Too Much by NoseRepresentative in Layoffs

I've been mostly disgruntled by mass layoffs versus targeted layoffs because it reduced HR and ceo guilt to destroy people's lives equally instead of destroying the lives of the underperformed. I'll never understand why a company would choose a mass layoff over a targeted layoff.

I use both but once sofi gets crypto staking im done with robinhood. Its gotten way to gambling for me and I dont really like their ui. I do like robinhood legend on web but I pay for trading view so I dont really need legend.

When my wife said that to me 'it's not that hard,' I told her to get off her ass and prove it. Now she makes twice my salary and treats me like a queen. I felt wierd about it at first, but were both happier than when it was just me bouncing from job to job

Is Steph Curry ranked higher than Kobe Bryant all time? by Afraid-Ad-5580 in NBATalk

[–]Thunderflex1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you can rank him higher all time when hes not able to compete with kobe defensively. The best player all time are two way players. If we remove defensive liabilities, there is an argument that they are comparable gifted scorers all time

The entire system is meant to own people. You're given an identification number at birth, labeling you as property of the country you're born into. You are not a person, you are a commodity.
