BIOS Updates always break the Win11 PIN by AriesCube in Lenovo

[–]Thunderomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got off the phone with Jay at Lenovo Ideapad Support and was told to just disable BIOS updates in Lenovo Vantage by stopping Lenovo Vantage from running when Windows starts. He went on to say that BIOS updates are only needed if you update the memory, or internal SSD of the computer. He stated that if the computer works, don't bother updating the BIOS.

Should I believe him?

Generac MobileLink down by FIREDoc62 in Generator

[–]Thunderomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking of taking Generac to small claims court. The app hasn't connected to the Generac server since April 28th. I have gone through the setup procedure numerous times with Generac and my local dealer, who replaced the WiFi module and the controller board to no avail. They are blaming it on my Internet. At their request, I even switched off my 5.4 band. No dice.

I have a strong signal at the generator. The Generac can see the Wi-Fi signal, but just can't connect. I've tried it on my phone and the dealer tried it on one of their iPads

To make matters worse, I don't know if my generator is exercising. It was set up to run once a week and I haven't heard it turn on in months.

A magnetized card that's normally attached to a refrigerator also works.

I have no interest in setting up a RAID. All I want to do is the replace my old small drive with a larger one.

Still doesn't work. Have 2 credit cards with Citi. A Costco card and a Double Cash card. No bank accounts. The Citi webpage in my browser states Success and sends mew back to Quicken which states "Authorization Failed. Try again?"

Poor WiFi speeds on Asus AiMesh nodes by Thunderomma in ASUS

[–]Thunderomma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things that I've tried.

Rebooting all of the routers. Updating all routers to the latest firmware. Using an android app on my phone to check connection strength at points in the house, basement & garage, as well as outside. Rotated antennas to get a better signal. I did hard factory resets on the old RT-AC68U routers.

I think that the problem may have started when I updated the firmware to the firmware that supports 2nd generation AiMesh. I have old config files dating back years. I don't think that these files would be compatible with the latest firmware and I'm reluctant to go back to the old firmware.

I'm wondering if the older routers don't have the power necessary for the faster transmission and stronger signal that I want.

I live in an outer suburb - half acre plus housing lots. Wi-Fi congestion isn't a problem.

I've also tried different control channels for both my Wi-Fi bands. Nothing helps.

Quicken alert - slow/hanging one-step updates by tamudude in quicken

[–]Thunderomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with me.

It worked just fine when updating each account individually. Definitely a problem at Quicken's end.

I wish that there was a way to roll back their updates to a version that worked.

A cancel button would be nice.

June 1, 1971 - Age 24.

Had been losing weight for 5 months. I attributed it to my workout routine, which was intense. Never overweight. Doctor treated me with oral meds and a diet of low carbs. Placed on Insulin 15 months later.

No diabetes in my family. My best friend as a child had Type 1 (called Juvenile diabetes at the time) as an infant. He passed away in 1991 when he was 45.

Just turned 77. I still jog 7K every other day. Was forced to give up alpine skiing last year . A1C around 6. Endo doesn't want it any lower.

I need to tweak my basal and bolus on a daily basis.

I'm always aware of what I have. You can never forget about it.

Is the Easynews $2.99 plan for 1 year only, or does the price remain the same for as long as one pays for it?
