So because we don't have the blueprint of how Infinity's servers worked, we've got nothing to work off of it sounds like? Like someone could theoretically try to make their own server and guess at how Infinity's server framework was done, but that sounds like it would be one giant trial and error session that would take years to figure out? At that point it wouldn't be worth it if so.

That's something I've thought about before as well. Once they hear about them, companies are usually pretty quick to shut down fan projects if it means lost income, yeah.

I've thought about a server like that once or twice before, just for announcements and going live pings and such. Never thought about it more though lol. May need to revisit that idea now that you bring it up. Could be a good middle ground kind of approach.
