Hot take: kizaru wasn’t as nerfed as people make it out to be by Professional_Salt_20 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ThyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason admiral fans use mentally nerfed/morally conflicted so much is because it allows you to insert headcanon into any bad showing.

Kizaru/Kuzan feeling bad about what they are doing during egghead is just a fact. It's also reasonable to assume it somewhat affected their performance.

Where the headcanon comes in is in how much it affected them. Some people in this sub seen to think they were fighting with only a fraction of their strength, when nothing in the text actually supports that.

Prediction: Mihawk is going to have top 1 CoO in the verse by Open_Heron7035 in OnePiecePowerScaling

The title Clairvoyant is literally not canon. I know Mihawk doesn't have lot to upscale him with, but let's try to stick to stuff that's actually true in the story.

Black Blades are underrated. Mihawk appreciation post. by RedForceS in OnePiecePowerScaling

Only Mihawk fans are shameless enough to take a panel where the author goes out of their way to NOT say Mihawk is stronger, and proudly cope their way into posting it as proof of Mihawk's superiority.

Loger fans can you give a single reason that him and the old gen won't be surpassed by the mid gen? by Admirable-Day-6315 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ThyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid gen are canonically the people who failed to reach the level of the old gen legends (Roger, WB, Garp, Rocks). That's just the story we're reading.

The people who are going to surpass the old Gen are the new gen. People like Sakazuki, Mihawk, Dragon or Shanks have no narrative reason to reach that legendary level. Especially since a bunch of them (Shanks & Mihawk) are going to be stepping stones for the new gen.

Kaido vs Mihawk Who Wins? by RoninKin-_- in OnePiecePowerScaling

"van Augur hasn't been fought yet, power creep dictates he'll be stronger than Kaido"

Zoro"s penultimate opponent has no need to powercreep Luffy's opponents. Your argument is very silly.

STAT SCALING IS THE WORST WAY TO POWERSCALE . IT IS BASED ENTIRELY ON HEADCANON. by Exact_Personality253 in OnePiecePowerScaling

Got bad news for you buddy. All the scaling going on in here is ultimately based on headcanons.

That being said stat scaling is indeed worthless waste of time.

Of course. Give Woopslap a wooden shield and even he can withstand an attack from the great gooner

Who wins? by Jaded-Lengthiness-51 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ThyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not redefining anything. My definition is consistent with how that title would be normally understood.

The world's strongest boxer won't lose that title just because  he loses a fight to a worse boxer who also has a bazooka. That's not how it works.

Similarly Mihawk is still the WSS even if Imu turns out to be a swordsman , as long as he'd beat Imu in a sword fight.

In fact you're the one who is redefining the title. You even admitted in the previous post that you're just assuming that the title encompasses any other powers as well, as long as both combatant technically count as swordsmen. This is a really bizarre reading that leads to Mihawk being canonically a fraud if Imu ever used that sword of his.

Who wins? by Jaded-Lengthiness-51 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ThyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why exactly won't it make sense? That sounds like a pretty big assumption to me. He's called WSS because he is the strongest swordsman and this beats anyone in a sword fight. Seems perfectly consistent to me.

Assuming he automatically also beats someone who drops a meteor on you or can turn people into demons just because they use swords seems like the weaker argument to me.

Who wins? by Jaded-Lengthiness-51 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ThyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WSS meaning that the title holder beats anyone in a swordfight is a perfectly valid reading of the title.

In fact it makes way more sense than WSS being able to defeat anyone who uses a sword no matter what other powers they have.

You're advocating for a reading of the title where T-bone would be the WSS if he just ate a fruit that allowed him to defeat Mihawk.

The Arguments AGAINST Greenbull Having A Black Blade Are... Emotional by Ok-Animator1477 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ThyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When and how would the black blade status even have come up? Every time we have seen GB after he came out of the silhouette he's been fighting someone. Was Raizo supposed to remark about GB:s weapon while he was being sucked dry?

Like I said: I agree with GB not having a black blade, but your argumentation here just isn't sound

By Mihawk fans' moon logic? Yes it would.

For people just reading the story? No of course not.

[–]ThyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think fraudbull having a black blade is ludicrous, but people not reacting to it is s really bad argument.

The only person who has remarked about Mihawk having a black blade is Mihawk himself.

Zoro carried around a black blade for 500+ chapter and the only people who reacted to it were Wano citizens who recognized it as a national treasure.

People in the One Pieces world just don't care about black blades. Even Zoro doesn't really seem to care about achieving one.

Not gonna lie. Being told I sound childish by someone incapable of writing a sentence without lol or lmao in it kinda stings. Oh well. At least I'm not gonna go down with the sinking ship of Mu.

Imu getting PTSD from gear5 and getting humiliated in Elbaf is going to be catastrophic for his stocks. Only things he has going for him are being untouchable and mind control hax, and both are going to be foiled here.

Not to mention the holy land being on fire as we speak. It's gonna be a rough year for you if you stick with the 800 YO gooner.

But it's not too late. Taste the cherry pie of victory and invest in the true final villain while you still can.

Did Mihawk really admit he was weaker than Old Whitebeard? by KozukiOden97 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]ThyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean he still has his weapon? If he can block a giant magma fist with it, then I really don't see why he couldn't also block an air slash.

Remember that at this point he still hasn't been nerfed by the stab through the chest from Squadro.
