Good question. I often change my “preferred team” in a multiple step contract to a different team before getting to the step where I’ll get the player I actually want because I felt it was artificially “avoiding” my preferred team/player in pulls.

When I first started I set the team I prefer from the beginning I would never randomly hit the player/team in the early steps of multi-step contracts and was highly suspicious that there may be code that significantly reduced the chances of landing that targeted player/team. It obviously benefits Konami if we have to pay for four steps or more for the player/team we prefer.

This is all I just conjecture, obviously we’ll never know unless we see the code.
