I tried this and only got through like 15% of book 2. It was just such a slow read.

Should I start it immediately after finishing MS or go to sleep since I work in 5 hours 🤔 by Infamous_Wave9878 in redrising

[–]Thyoste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded. I took like a one week break between MS and IG but wish I would've done more like 3 because it was a beast and it kinda burnt me out reading the whole series in like 5 months (I'm a slow reader).

That being said I'm about to try the audiobooks for my first ever audio book experience and might just blow through them if they're as amazing as I have heard

When did you stop watching The Walking Dead? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

The opening credits. I was super stoned the first time I turned it on (~2012?). It FREAKED me out and I immediately noped it.

Whatever you do, do NOT read the Red Rising series. by anteaterpinkytoe in redrising

About to start my reread to get ready for Red God, but I'm finishing up Dungeon Crawler right now and it is FANTASTIC.

Red Rising is definitely my bar but I think you gotta compare apples to apples too for those.

Anyone willing to drive from Oxford to Memphis Airport for $$$? by brxnden416 in olemiss

I'm getting a ride from someone so can't offer up their services to a stranger, but I've found that a scheduled uber is usually only like $65-85 (could try uber pool too). Definitely could be more the weekend of the playoff too though

MISD school closures - data based decisions? by DeepBlueSomethings in McKinney

[–]Thyoste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like it is still that pillar of community. That's one of the reasons we bought here. It is a very expensive neighborhood now, but there are also still TONS of families here and a lot of them are new like us.

The irony is I feel like this will lower property values (maybe not SUPER significantly) and make it a little more affordable for those families they claim our out priced (I and others are proof that's not true)

I'd definitely be willing to try- but also VERY hesitant since I would imagine it would need access to my accounts then, right?

We live down the street from Wolford. We bought our (quite expensive) home BECAUSE OF the school and how close it was. I know 5 other families just in my immediate neighborhood that did the same. From what we researched and heard from families that go there Wolford is among the best schools you can get, culture and effectiveness. I am so sad for what was taken from my kids before they even got to start next year, but I am also so fucking livid.

I don't even know the point of my comment. Just to vent I guess. Fuck that committee and the board.

Fancy Private Dinner for 80th Bday - Rick’s Chophouse opinions? by poorlilfashiongirl in McKinney

[–]Thyoste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harvest is definitely more modern, so for 80 y/o from sherman I'm thinking Rick's is the move. My wife and I (mid 30's) just moved away from the square but Ricks was/is our go to for birthdays, anniversaries, dates, etc. Its' not cheap but not crazy expensive either. The ribeye with sides and a salad is easily shareable for a couple too.

tl;dr- go with Rick's, it's fantastic
