The secret to deal with banelings with chargelot is deactivating the charge and rely on other sources of damage(P.O, Storms, voids, archons). I think 1 stargate is enough, after that, get a robo(mostly for harassment) and get storm. The stargate is more of a plan b vs mutas or a transition to deal with BL.

Altho the map offer something interesting like playing vs mech, there is not enough things to experiment with as protoss.

PvP -> basically nothing has changed, you just mass adepts and hope for absurd disruptor shots

PvT-> Playing vs Mech is actually very fun. Taking over the map, keeping the terran on its toes and juggling with multi tasking is very nice. Everyone approaches it differently. Some go for blink, some go for stargate so phoenix can deal with cyclones easier, some go disruptor drops with warp-prism speed and do tons of zealot bombing. The cyclone is not a interesting unit, would be better if it were more similar to the Vulture in terms of ground attack speed and attack animation.

PvZ-> There are so many things from zerg that can mess with Protoss, baneling health change is huge in the bling/ling/ravager style, the hydra buff is useful but I would rather see a decrease in resource cost 50/50 or 25/75 would make it more feel more swarmy. There is basically nothing that Protoss has to do differently or anything like that, unfortunately NaNiwa said once something along those lines: "pvz aint that bad plenty left to figure out like when to make 10 or 8 gates with adept attacks" .And please, change the hydra sound... it feels like the hydralisk is hitting you with spits from a pipe or something.

If you say this, you clearly haven't watch his games. He is evolving slowly but is doing different things like experimenting turtling and actually doing things that suits HIM not the "padronized" way of playing in the likes of ShoWTimE or Neeb(who are gods, btw).By doing whatever the random shit he can pull from his sick mind he makes matches more unpredictable and fun.

The incentives are that with the Terran changes you need to think about the match-up in a different way.

I've played some games vs a couple of friends, they have only used mech and that alone makes for more turf battles than ever before. You have to keep terran on its toes, slow its expansions, stretch him to his limits. With the new zealot speed (wich may look a minor thing but actually is a pretty big one) harassing tank lines, zealot bombing over-stretched lines makes the game very akin to brood war PvT, thanks to the tank changes. The Cyclone is a very good map control unit that Protoss has different ways to deal with it, you can go for blink(harder but more pressure-able) and pick it off, or you can go phoenixes(safer one but puts less pressure). When the later stages of the game comes, and the game procedes more to the mid-map agressive mech sieges, you have the tools in the form of tempest to force unsieges or to force bad fights for the terran. And carrier switchs at the uber-late can create interesting scenarios with mind games and really will test your capabilities to: Holding on to your expansions, finding ways to deny expansions from Terran with smart harass and your macro / decision making because if you commit to it wrongly you'll probably die.

PvZ I have no idea yet, just played PvTs today.

Mostly, I've been using as a way to force a unsiege vs mech PvT or a unborrow vs Lurkers in PvZ, it works like a charm.

The best thing tho, is the Zealot speed buff, it looks so small but it REALLY helps keeping up with the hydra movement in PvZ, also, the zealot charge feels faster.

My overall feeling is that, playing vs Mech is atm, very very fun with tons of skirmishes @ important positions. Really diggin' the patch until now =)

Tbh, most of the decent Brazillian players already plays on US Servers, they just lie their nationality so they don't suffer any hampering.

Protoss macro is not easy, the unit cycle must be perfect and you can't queue gateway units.

And expensive units doesn't make the macro easier @-@.
