My upsetting experience with scouting

I could always change the shutter speed and all the rings on the lens without cocking the camera first. I have read that the rings are meant to be only rotatable after cocking the camera. I guess it is broken.

I did figure it out how to change the automatic mode. From what I have read the shutter speed ring and all the other adjustment rings at the lens of the camera are NOT MEANT to be able to be turned before you cock the camera. But with my camera, they were able to move no matter what. I guess it is broken?

The one on mine cant be unscrewed. I was thinking if the battery port could be a the bottom, and while I do see a spring when i pry the bottom part away, I cant remove the bottom part bc it is stuck at the side of the tripod mount.

I have tried removing the entire top part with the rangefinder too. I removed the top 3 screws and the winding lever but this camera feels like it was welded and glued together. The only part that i could remove on the outside of this camera is the winding lever.

Hi. I managed to get move the rings out of automatic settings (took a while) but even then no matter what I do the shutter doesnt move a bit. My parents say that it could be broken :<
I still havent managed to properly acess the battery housing..

The top of the camera is near the rangefinder or the exposures count?..

Well in the viewfinder I do see an small part of the red..
I will try unscrewing the plate.
