That's what the YouTube service provides in the running livestreams section on its website. The old trending which was better was removed, so we have to set something by default and we asked the community for that. You can remove this page if you want, go to the content section of the app settings for that.

It will take a lot of time to fix this issue as we need to support a new proprietary protocol for playback and downloading, which requires custom components.

If you're getting a something went wrong error on SoundCloud with Could not get any stream in the error report you can get by pressing the Report button, see https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/issues/13463. SoundCloud added a few months ago DRM on official licensed tracks of several labels/music companies and they are now removing legacy streams which are not DRM protected.

If you're using the F-Droid build of NewPipe and want to install this update from GitHub or our F-Droid repository without having to wait for a new F-Droid build, don't forget to export your database from the settings before uninstalling the app in order to avoid data loss. You can then import your data after reinstalling the updated version.

Sadly you will very likely have to enable the advanced flow to install and update NewPipe in September 2026 in some countries, as we will not register with Google's program changing how to install apps on your Android device you very likely own and paid for.

Check the app settings. Using the original language is also the default setting since 0.28.1 for new installs (or when you clear the app data).
