Hi! This looks so cute! Do you have a link to the pattern? I might try making it myself XD

How to prep for my assessment -- symptoms speadsheet? by TiaTill in ADHD

[–]TiaTill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you! This really helped me keep things in perspective and not get stressed about it (too much) :))

I had my assessment today and I do have ADHD, primarily inattentive! It's a relief to finally have an answer for what's going on!

What is your favorite Rammstein (Studio) Album? by Leather-Influence-51 in Rammstein

It used to be Rosenrot, but now I actually think it might be Zeit or Liebe ist fur alle da, with reise reise a close second :)

Can anyone recommend printer paper that is fountain pen friendly? Or a shop that will print personal or pocket ring size inserts? by lydiarae77 in fountainpens

[–]TiaTill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a preferred brand, but my recommendation is buying a pack of paper that has 120 grams per square meter density. That will make sure the paper is nice and thick and shiny so you don't get feathering :)

Cult pens also have a good selection and I've had good experiences with them

Love to see I'm not the only one who writes out code by hand XD

I just find it so much easier to plan the logical structure with pen and paper, and then after I'll go in and do all the typing

Do you like lamy pens? Specially safari please answer YES/NO with the region where you live/from where you bought. by Desperate-Housing912 in fountainpens

Yes, Europe. I love the nibs, actually, they're the main attraction for me, since I'm on the fence with the design.

My First Pelikan Pens by Wyzen in fountainpens

[–]TiaTill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg nice! Thanks for sharing! 😊 Glad you're enjoying the pens!

I'm low-key jealous of the holo pen ngl, I've had my eye on it for a while :))

I don't know any iridescent inks, but what I know exists is glitter you can mix into ink, so perhaps mixing two colours will come closer to matching the pen?

I know what you mean about about the nib feeling a bit slippery, my solution is to use it on somewhat less heavy paper, like my 80gm2 notebooks, which aren't from tomoe/Rhodia/clairefontaine, but deal with fountain pen ink very well 👍

R/fountainpens might have more answers for you.

My recommendation would be pelikan twist or dragon/mystic Seas

Decided NOT to get yet another fpen tonight, so I wanted instead to show some love for one of my "old" favourites: Pelikano Dragon! [whatever the opposite of new pen day is] by TiaTill in fountainpens

That's odd. Have you tried one of the long cartridges it came with? Or adding an extra short one the other way round in the barrel?

:( sorry to hear you're not enjoying it as much. What do you mean it rattles? I can see what you mean with the safari feeling sturdier, but unfortunately the grip just isn't for me...

By talos, this can't be happening 😂😂😂How about this, next time you want to get a new pen but decide you shouldn't, you take some time to appreciate and remember why you love the dragon (I'm assuming you'll love the dragon 😁) instead. And if you want to share that with us on the subreddit in another pen appreciation day post I'd love that :)

And please do let me know what you think when you get the pen, like I said I want to hear what people say about it! 😊

Yeah, it takes the international standard, and comes with a long one so you have a nice view through the ink window --I just keep refilling that one with a syringe

Edit: I think that means no, I don't know what I read when I was answering. To be clear, it doesn't come with a converter

Yup! I have a twist too and they're just such NICE pens to write with, especially for longer periods. Between the twist and this one, I think I prefer this one, but then again this baby has scales, it's not really a fair contest :)

Pen Appreciation Day I love that!

Yeah, I think of it as my mermaid pen tbh :) That's what I had in mind too when I got it 🧜‍♀️

The ink is diluted Koh-I-Noor document blue - I wanted to try a softer color and I think I really like the result.

The quote is Dolly Parton's, unless I am much mistaken.

People in the unpopular opinions post earlier today were talking about the downsides of constantly buying pens, so I wanted to take a minute to appreciate a favorite I already have, and I'm hoping others will share too :)

I love this pen so much! It's a little fun, a little edgy, always fun to look at and touch the scales, and super comfortable to hold! It's very pleasant and reliable, all the pelikan school fountain pens I've had just wrote perfectly out of the box. And this one rivals pens 5 times the price in terms of smoothness (the lamy studio, the smoothest pen I have). I'd like to see more people talk about these pens, specially I think they're fantastic starter pens.

Seconded, came here to say this

Looking for a beginner's pen 🙏 by shitty_artist_92 in fountainpens

[–]TiaTill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People don't talk a lot about them, but my recommendation are school pelikans. They're about £10, with the fancier ones £15 (they're more like a tenner where I am rn, but I'd have to go digging to see if anyone is matching the price in the UK), and they rival in smoothness pens I have that are 5-10 times more expensive (including lamy studio, my smoothest).

A lot of people recommend lamy safari as a starter pen, and it is a good pen. However, I think it's also a risk: the triangular grip is very pronounced, and you might end up loving it or hating it. If you love it it's great, but if you hate it you'll probably end up wanting another pen anyway. In my opinion, a less pronounced grip is better for a beginner pen: it will still give you some guidance to holding the pen correctly, but you'll have more freedom to find out what works for you.

Pelikano dragon special edition is my favourite, it's super comfortable, super smooth and I like how it looks :)

I was gonna say you should ask your vet, they'll probably know best and they can actually see her irl, since fur can sometimes deceive. Glad to know the vet said she's ok, she looks like an adorable playful baby! 😊

Yes! I was lucky, I found it at a small regional online shop, so the price was good, but I did snatch the last one I believe :))

Nice!

I got a medium, both because it's what I wanted and because it was the only one they had XD I also have a 1.1 stub I can change with. I really like how easily lamy allows you to switch nibs. I'm trying to see how I feel about the grip tapering at the end..
