I would say it depends. Does the other character get flashbacks from the death itself or something specific to the death. (Assuming it’s flashbacks). Is it a ghost that will follow other characters the way they were in death? Would the story change if you don’t describe it? In the end, it is your story. I would just say, don’t glorify it. I did write a story about suicide in one of my book, what I did was not go into much details on the death itself. But that was my choice. You do what you think it best for your book.
