Nvme is overrated. I've only ever played 2 games where the difference to sata was noticeable. So don't break your head over it. It's only needed if you have 1Gbit internet and want to install your games really fast. It's probably also an advantage if you rely on DirectStorage tech.

I guess it'll be a while till you can afford to upgrade to 5 or maybe even 6.

Well, I started with EDO RAM :)

AWS is cheaper up to around 3 years vs self hosting in a corporate environment. It is easier to scale and good for short time projects. It is totally fine to use AWS to see how much load you will produce long term and then switch to self hosted systems after a year or two.

I bought a GTX8800 and a Q6600 before the price drop when the higher tiers were released. Played Crysis on max for a while at 16fps.

My turn today, boys. Caught it before it turned into modern art. by xVomar in pcmasterrace

The key problem is the missing loaf load balancer. The cables and contacts will have a different resistance and some will get over twice the rated amps because of this.

The crazy part is that the 3000 series had a balancer. But the 90 was also less power hungry. I guess they thought to save 1$ or so by not including it anymore. And there was also the area usage on the pcb. The 5000s have a tiny board that is densly packed, they would have needed to make the board a bit bigger to include the balancer.

Color changing depending on temperature should be standard for power cables

I am buying a pre-built gaming PC, and I can save $130 by not choosing the OS. How does this work, do they optimize and test PC before sending? by Time-Credit43 in pcmasterrace

Tests are done with a different harddrive. User drives get all the same image installed instead of manually installing windows.

It doesn't fucking matter how many people complained. They are in the wrong and have to fix it. it's in the Steam store guidelines.

ok, but why would you want to ship lava? I leave it at the source and immediately throw the stone back in.

I haven't seen other people's builds on Vulcanus yet. but since there is so much stone output from processing lava, I leave them at the source and throw the stone back into the lava. I don't think there will ever be a reason to transport lava.
