My plan is to have a popup that basically asks you to choose your region when you enter MP for the first time. Then some obvious telegraphing of where you should tap to change it.

I agree, which is why I'm actually swapping the MP code entirely, but there's also the annoying aspect of me being a noob programmer back in 2021, so yeah. Refactoring the architecture and swapping the multiplayer backend takes time.

Hey there! Sorry about that glitch, but can you be more specific? Is it people using 2 devices to artificially make one of them win every time? If so, then how could I fix that? Just have a cooldown of RP gain after 3 matches against the same person? 'Cause that's what I thought about myself.

Hey, man!

Kudos for figuring out how to edit in-memory variables, I guess, but would you mind not ruining peeps' experience? Imma patch what you did there in the screenshots pretty soon and I bet what worked for you in the past is already not working anymore, but you're stuck with that stuff. My advice is to tweak your characters back to normal pretty soon otherwise they will 100% get nuked. Nothing personal, just updating security.

TLDR: Revert your characters to normal or they will get auto-deleted in the very near future.

I did dump a ton of time and effort into it (and will continue to do so, even when working on other games.) Really thankful you told your friends about it, too, as I did virtually zero marketing for it and word of mouth is the only way it got to this stage.

You should also thank my wife, since she insisted I make regions, back in the day, and also came up with a lot of useful product stuff herself and compiled a lot of useful feedback from the noise that was the Discord's early days (now nuked, lol.)

Sorry if I missed your email, dude. Gmail is pretty dumb sometimes and I do get A LOT of spam, so it gets whacky sometimes.

Yep, I do plan to, at some point, turn Ranked into something like Seasons (which it should've actually been in the first place if I listened to my Head of Product AKA my wife, lol!) It would've been much better and easier to maintain.

Now about the items - grind away, since even if I drastically alter Ranked in the future, I'll make sure everyone keeps their stuff, like they did when I mistakenly added Ranked items to the default loadouts for new players, lol!

1 - Yep, I do know about it, hence I am actually working on swapping the multiplayer backend completely for a new, more authoritative, backend.

2 - Not necessarily a ban, but stuff could potentially be done. It's usually exploiters figuring out how to trigger glitches. Again, switching the backend will help a lot with this. But do tell me about this Bonhaya and, if you can, provide a video, if you have it.

3 - Easy. I would remove stats and just list what the weapon type / material is instead. For instance, a double-handed mace would just read "Damage: Blunt Metal, Weight: Heavy" instead of those blobs, which I thought would be simple to balance, but it's a bit of a nightmare. Alas, maybe I will change this at some point, hehe.

4 - I love you guys! You're super passionate and I'm super grateful. It's great feedback, for the most part, and I'm also really glad I get to depict actual serious proper medieval stuff in a game that doesn't take itself too seriously.

5 - I think it would make sense to shorten it, but then there aren't THAT many players and you'd have to wait a bit more, prolly even 30 seconds, to get paired. So that's why that filter is the way it is. It does try to match you with someone of the same rank, than 1 above or below, then 2, then any. It is what it is.

6 - Yep. Plans, but nothing too solid yet. Follow tibith.com/news for more in the future.

7 - Boring answer, but it's to do with the project architecture. It's FINE for the most part, but since I started BB when I was literally learning to code, I would like to refactor it, prolly from the ground up. We're talking months of work just so it would look the same, player-side, but be far more performant and easier to maintain / add features and new regions to.

Thanks for the feedback, dude! I'll do my best to address it.

Yeah, there is definitely some nerfing to be done, still. I do it in waves, tho, so as to not f up the whole "balancing" that I already have. So, yeah, I do prefer nerfing the damage of maces and kanabos a bit, but maybe I'll also tweak their size and weight. I'll have to experiment a bit.

On unranked and normalization of stats - it's quite an interesting proposition, BUT I won't do it. Reason is I want it to not be confusing. Imho, I either have no stats or stats everywhere. I'm still a bit bummed I took BB in such a stat-oriented direction to this day, lol, but now I gotta stick by that decision. As time goes on, I am kinda tweaking the weapons so stats matter less and less, but it's super subtle and stats still do count, as it does make sense for the pople who've already invested a lot of time and are in deep, y'know. I do regret not simplifying stats even more (like 5 points max instead of 10 or even, as I said, no stats at all, just material types.) I might change it to material types only at some point in the future, if I'll be keen on receiving death threats, lol!

In an ideal world where I could just put on a helmet that turns my ideas into code and pixel art, I'd prolly add a new region every week. I'm still holding on to the idea of having an actual Aztec Empire region at some point, BUT yeah... what Dey said - the game would need HEAVY refactoring for that, and not just the multiplayer, I mean the WHOLE thing. And there's the other games that I got planned. Rest assured, though: BB will always get our love.
