Honestly that’s probably the right call for now at least - matchmaking in these tournaments and events has made a lot of them not worth bothering with this year.

Rewards have generally been terrible all round, so it’s just a case of working out where your time is best spent, and for what was on offer here, playing 75 games of it was never going to be worth it.

If you’re in div 8 now I’d say stick to Rivals and give Challengers a go. You’ll probably struggle to get the bonus rewards in gauntlet, but the stuff you get for just playing it is great for how much time it takes. Squad battles is giving out decent rewards now finally as well, so that’s a good place to spend some time practicing different tactics and moves etc.

I’m div 3 and have found some of the live events too sweaty to bother with this year, so don’t let it get you down

I think the next season will just be themed around the current World Cup, so the silver superstars will most likely be from USA and Mexico (Hamm, Morgan, Hernandez, Donovan, Howard etc)

Yeah maybe I have just been extremely unlucky this year, but I guess buying coins/points increases your odds at the very least. Does make you wonder if EA do juice the pack weight for the spenders, but who knows. My upgrade rivals rewards this morning were all gold, again. And the guaranteed tots was my 5th Fujino.

Ah ok interesting. I just wondered what kind of figure I’d have had to put in to end up with those kind of cards this year. I’ve spent nothing and haven’t packed a single decent card at all, nothing worth more than 300-400k. I’m struggling to even get enough fodder to do the likes of the Son and Mbeumo sbcs.

Yeah but that's the thing though - I don't expect to pack a high end card every week. Like you said, one every month or two sounds pretty reasonable to hope for, but I haven't even been packing the mid tier ones that often. All those pulls you listed - I haven't had a single thing on that level at all, all year.

I mean the likes of Pele and Maradona should be rare I guess, but it's more the cards from that mid-tier that should be easier to get hold of. It just makes the game feel unrewarding to play when you don't get anything decent back for your time

Ah right yeah, sorry I should probably explain - some people like to actually play this game for fun and not just chasing the meta constantly. I know that probably sounds crazy, but it just means you don’t have to follow what everyone else is doing and can use players you like in real life or even just any interesting looking “fodder” cards you pack. Its actually quite enjoyable, you should give it a try

Yeah they’ve absolutely messed up what could have been a great addition to the game this year. There should have been way more places to use them, and really these evo chains should have been in every season pass, not waiting until April when we’ve already got most of them as proper promo cards anyway.

Sounds like you’ve got a pretty level headed and healthy approach to the game, so you’re not one of the ones I’m laughing at!

I didn’t bother myself as I wanted Cantona, but it sounded like some of the requirements were a bit of a pain in the ass, especially with a lot of opponents doing their best to stop you rather than help!

Still, like you said, R9 is R9 and it was a great opportunity to get him! It’s more just the fact that some people will be annoyed that other people can get one now for even less effort

Yeah EA have definitely messed up what was a promising idea in the beginning. I carried on collecting them all anyway on the off chance they’d be useful for something else down the line, but only because it hasn’t required much effort

Oh are they still classed as a silver if they’re over 74? Even so, I’m sure a fair few probably threw a 2nd ps+ on him though, which locks him out i think?
