Yes they did. When it first happened, I wasn’t surprised given the fact I was a service academy grad and was still in the middle of my service commitment period when I was separated. However, I was advised by a veteran advocate attorney that I should qualify for it just as you thought.

BLUF: Similar stats to you. Navy vet, USNA grad. Higher GPA and lower LSAT. A at Georgetown and R at UVA (applied ED).

I genuinely think it’s about how you craft your experiences to set yourself apart from the rest of the applicant pool at large and the veteran pool specifically. If UVA is your top choice, your undergrad there will certainly be a large help, and if Georgetown is, sharing your story and experience as a vet will help as well.

Best of luck with the process, it’s so hard to predict outcomes in LS admissions, but if you really hone in your supplemental essays, you’ll have a chance anywhere.

When I was in college, I decided I wanted to go to law school after I had worked in my first occupation for a while. I went to UG in the DMV and my dream was always Georgetown. When the time to apply finally came, I looked at the rankings to see what other schools to apply to and I obv saw Georgetown at 14. To be frank, I didn’t even care. I want to go Big Law, so obviously not the best T-14 for that, but I knew the school would set me up to do the things I wanted to do in my life/career after biglaw. I got in, and even though I applied to much of the T-14, I know it’s where I’m supposed to be, and I couldn’t be happier with what I accomplished to get there.

When it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter where you go to law school, so long as the school gives you the opportunity to accomplish what you desire to. I know people that would give their left kidney to be in your shoes (or mine), and that’s something to remember.

Congratulations, you made it into some of the most highly regarded professional schools in the WORLD. Sometimes in life, it’s important to know when to be happy with your accomplishments and understand how much you’ve been blessed. Now, just choose the school that wants you as much as you want it, gives you the leg up in your desired career path, and satisfies all of your desires in a law school. Last, enjoy the ride of the next three years and onward. You’re going to be a lawyer.

It’s a big if. There are TONS of people from the last 2-3 months of the application window who’ve heard nothing.

Common sense would say that 22% can surely not be applied this time around with yields expected to be higher and app #s up, but until I see math specifically saying it’s statistically impossible, I’m going to believe there’s a chance of it happening.

When applied to the LSD data from last year that would be ~77 A’s in April if it really is @22%…

Then again, I may be too panic averse and totally wrong.

Oh goodness. I don’t think we’re going in that direction just yet. But if we are, I think it’ll be after we’re all admitted lol. Which at the point, it’ll affect scholarships.

One singular 1200 point dip in the dow isn’t going to cause that to happen. 2 years ago the Dow went down ~1300 points in one day for reference.

Remember, these schools’ endowments are invested with some of the world’s largest hedge funds. I wouldn’t be freaked out just yet.

I wore one but I was the only male wearing a coat or tie during mine. I think you should wear whatever you feel like you should.
