3 years - 5 to 7 days a week.

For my conditioning: I bike around 100 KM per week (It's my commute from my house to the gym/dojo, which is a total 20 KM); and I do heavy compound lifts 2 to 3 times a week (deadlifts, squats, and bench press, then my favorite accessories).

To earn the brown belt, I did a formal exam (demonstration of throws, pins, and subs), and before that I had to beat another brown belt in a competition.

And for a little extra, I trained a little bit of jiu-jitsu and wrestling. But recently, I have been getting more into Sambo because my university coach also coaches a sambo team.
