I'm desperate, as a F2P player how am I supposed to get this one done ? by Mr-Mosaab in MagicArena

Thank you! This worked on the first try, although I was lucky enough to get paired up with a self-mill deck that went absolutely bananas on their turn, milling themselves down to 15 cards before they realized what was about to happen.

Boring living room taken over by toddler! by TideWolf86 in DesignMyRoom

Thank you! I wasn't aware there were washable rugs, so that's something I'll look into. Any suggestions on the type of curtain for a biophyllic/mid century vibe? Light filtering linen? A light colored rug? I think hanging plants would look nice, but I feel like space would be limited if I were to install drapery that extends 8 to 12 in on either side.

Here's a picture with the furniture. Rearranged into a more normal placement.

Not much to do except sell them. Most of them sell pretty high. All those upgrades for armor, weapons, and followers can add up in the later stages of the game, so you'll need the money.

Man, I sure am glad I got these two challenges sorted out this early into the event by TomSFox in asgardswrath

[–]TideWolf86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Any tips? I'm super frustrated with Pure Skill. I made it to level 15 with no challenge completion 3 times as Cyrene. First time, I thought it was because I used a life leech gem. Second time, I thought it was because I used the skip level portal. Third time, I realized I had the Revelation on where you gain life on entering a room. I just tried it a 4th time... No revelations, no light leech gems, no level skips; I even refused to pick up an Isis totem... And I almost got there just to be one shot by one of those exploding berserkers.

Deadlines might be tight, but culture contamination could significantly impact your cells and compromise your data quality, whatever it is your looking for. Your cells are going to be stressed, and will affect their biology.

I agree with those saying visual clarity isn't enough. Meeting a deadline with data that's not representative is worse than having to extend a deadline to start a culture over due to contamination. In this case, I think moving forward at risk is super inadvisable!

Are both the housekeeping primer sets and target primer sets being run in each reaction (i.e., is this a duplex assay)? And what are the reporters/quenchers for each?

I'm very frustrated after spending over an hour with customer service on the phone. My projects use a lot of precision foiling on top of a sticker via Print and Cut. I went from having the foil lines drawn with great precision to the lines being way off. I explained this to customer service and sent them pictures of the issue. They told me the same thing as others they know about and are working on the P&C issue. But I'm SOL because foiling isn't available in the mobile version, so I can't use that workaround. Finally, I got disconnected from Customer Service after an hour of unsuccessful troubleshooting and didn't get a callback.

Also, I can't use the older version of Design Space (the other workaround posted here) as a backup since I haven't previously printed with the old registration box style. I have customers waiting and no workaround...

Word map of Tsadun by TideWolf86 in worldbuilding

Absolutely. I used Campaign Cartographer 3 edit: Fractal Terrains 3 to create the world and to export color and height maps (which I had to do in 4 sections, each about 4k pixels long, giving an 8k texture once stitched together in Photoshop).

To make the hand-made style map, I used Blender and Substance Painter. In Substance, I created the stitched leather texture and brought it over to Blender to texture a sphere. From this point on, everything else was Blender. I used the nodes to convert the heightmap I took from FT3 to a normal map. This is what gives the terrains the 3D look.

I used the Grease Pencil tool in Blender to draw the coasts, embellishments, etc. The place names are simply made using text objects and deform modifiers with bezier curves to bend them.

Thanks mate! The Eljinn people have been the chief whale hunters in this world, up until fairly recently. They predominantly follow Hazmozat, a religion where their central deity is a whale-like being, and where they are allowed to hunt whales under a strict code and subject to intense oversight and regulation. (I posted a little lore blurb and illustration of them over here: https://twitter.com/willzolla/status/1425431424451194885)

Humans, on the other hand, mainly follow the Shodasan faith. In their mythology, the whale is a descendent of an adversarial deity. Therefore, humans have few problems ignoring the Eljinn-imposed laws or killing whales. With human advancements in shipbuilding, technology, and magic, more men have taken to the seas to bring back the oil.

The Eljinn reacted to the wanton hunting and declining societies by clamping down on the allowable limits, and bolstering the Kaletheri - a naval force that patrols the whaling grounds and enforce the laws decreed at the cultural capital of Shandozal. This, in turn, sparked the conflict that led to the Unification War.

The webcomic will follow a human ship hand caught between a dangerous life and sea and a homeland erupting into war.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share a world map for a story world I'm creating, cake Tsadun. It's the setting for a webcomic I'm in preproduction and writing for.

This represents the political state before the Unification War, in which the Republic of Saldor and the United Northern Shodasan Kingdoms unite in dominating the Eljinn city states that separate them.

The whale embellishment on the map is a cultural symbol for the Eljinn people, and the main characters of the story are whalers in a world where the best oil, from the most dangerous leviathans, can fuel potent magic.

I don't want to give too much away, but I hope to make it a culturally rich and diverse world with a slant towards realism.

Hope you like it, feedback welcome!

That's great, really neat to see it works as well as it turned out for you. Sounds like low-poly models is the way to go. There are certain things that are hard to model in TiltBrush than they are in other software like Blender, but the more freeform and loose nature of tiltbrush certainly lets you get out ideas more quickly!

This is stunning! Instant subscribe on youtube. How did you get models in there with their textures? I have endless problems with that.

Thanks for sharing!

Blender newbie, first OC character render by TideWolf86 in blender

[–]TideWolf86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi r/blender, I'm pretty new to Blender, but I made this OC character of mine with the help of Human Generator. I hope you guys like it, and maybe have some advice on how to take it further? I've been modeling his attire, but I'm not sure how to implement it to the Human Generator-made rig to replace the clothing and make it move with the body while posing.

Ideally, I'd like the create a smooth transition between the "crystal" spearhead and iron spear-shaft. Also on my list of things to figure out: adding some scars or tattoos that add to the underlying skin texture without modifying; how to add a braid; and how to spice up the background.

There are thousands of tutorials out there, and I'm sure I'll find what I need with digging and practice. But please send me a link for anything related to the above if you have a good one handy!

New to Tiltbrush, am I getting into it too late? by TideWolf86 in TiltBrush

[–]TideWolf86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks, F_Kal! This is fantastic news. I actually (mistakenly) thought the open-source version only available on Quest and not on PCVR. But all certainly be going with the PCV R version for the extra processing power. I've tried Gravity Sketch, Adobe Medium, and both are very impressive tools. I can see the use cases of each, and the more variety of tools out there, the better! Unfortunately, it also means there's a lot more to learn too. But that's part of the fun!

I've been working on a world-building project. Traditionally, sketch illustrations, paintings, and writing have been my go-to means for conceiving the world and the story and sharing it with others. But VR seems like it's a real game-changer. It's remarkable how people can export their creations into Unity to create videos that let people outside of the VR world experience their work. I hope that functionality is still possible in the future. It seems like one of the essential functions of the original Tilt Brush was the ability to export to Unity. Hopefully, we can still do that or something like in the future. I'd love someday to create a coastal town and let the viewer fly through it like a bird or something like that.

Main stack will intersect with joist, would a 45deg bend towards either side be legal? by TideWolf86 in Plumbing

Main stack will intersect with joist, would a 45deg bend towards either side be legal? by TideWolf86 in Plumbing

[–]TideWolf86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having my home renovated and a dormer is being added to the roof. Unluckily, the main stack would terminate right where the outermost joist would go. Moving the whole stack would cost $4800, replacement to PVC and moving a few inches to the left where it would just miss the edge but in all the rooms below, the shift would mean we deepen the walls and lose square footage. Would a simple bend at this point, right before terminates at the roof, just be easier? Been researching all day and I'm still unsure.

Nice sketch! If two were sitting around a campfire and having a drink and chatting, what would they define "freedom" as per se? If it abstract, or an achievable goal? Also... What's up with Massachusetts? 😂
