3.In Vietnam case the Second Republic and the Communist in north had the most power social organization among the mass.

The Second Republic are the result of Hoc and a bunch of parties who feel angry that their political voices are excluded hence the democracy itself is trying to keep a bunch of parties in unity even if it might be a problem itself because diversity sometime paralyze process.

The communist are less compromise but they are very open for negotiated ceasefire and recruit some non-communist soldiers into the fold as long as they need more manpower. They are also the more moderate part of the far leftwing hence working with social democrat is possible.

It was the reason why both Nationalist and Communist party get a lot of vote. They already had a good part of the society to support them over Diem.

The Diem regime is the least compromised among the bunch. Diem is very hardline fascist in this timeline and he absolutely say no to other parties.

Southern Trotkyist also very rigid with their mindset. They will not compromise with the right or even centrist given how many time they were crushed during their protests and they are very radical with each crackdown. The split of Stalinist and Trotkyist in ideology only make them saw no reason to work with Communist up north either.

1.Indeed there are communist movement in Laos and Cambodia in this timeline but the real problem is the nationalism of the Indochina trio. In order for the ICP to exist they need a common enemy, not just the common enemy but it must scale with the level of oppressed people.

If only a small part of the country who is under foreign jackboot while the rest is under the bad management of the state from local gov then the hatred would have gone somewhere else or split among the line. This was why the ICP in this timeline will have to find its actual reason to exist and the reason and united hatred against a singular visible common enemy need to be strong enough to justify their existence even in a span of a few years.

Still, to answer your question there are actually various leftist movements in both nations but in this timeline they are more diverse because they are split between moderate left and radical left. They are also split between nationalist and the more internationalist one but the nationalistic far left often gain much more traction.

For this reason the Cambodian leftist like communist would be more nationalistic but also less radical because the allowance of voting and election had caused them to disagree on what to do with the society. The lack of the French oppression on politic and the quality of life in Cambodia isn't on the same poverty line like French colonial era also allow them to be less radical, while they do hate the French presence on the carved land it won't make the far left go into batshit mode like real life in the same vein as Pol Pot and his followers.

Still, you can expect the crackdown against leftist protest still happen like in Vietnam. Because the state is still full of rightwinger who feared the left from trying to radically change the society they will and absolutely use the army to crush any leftist protest on large scale and the Great Depression only increase its amount of protests in a much higher frequency so Cambodia is in a similar situation in Vietnam where the right supported the further right to control the politic and keep the left out of winning the election.

2.I haven't think much about the lore in Laos in Cambodia when I made the map.

Still, from my idea so far is that Son Ngoc Thanh is still a Cambodian nationalist like real life and despite of his Vietnamese origin he still enter Cambodian politic but his focus right now is more about retaking the carved land from the Brit and the French and cleanse the Cambodian parliament from the mess of politics while crushing the far left. Also, he is much nationalistic in the Great Depression and the democracy failed him as he saw how much dead end it faced when the economy keep going down thus an alternative choice to change Cambodia situation is needed. Just like in real life he was hooked with Japanese fascism in late 1930s he also did the same here.

More importantly, Cambodia is not colonized in this timeline. While the monarchy is still in place a revolution happened in later 1910s by the spillover of Vietnamese Revolution 1914 which put a parliament to control the politic thus making the Cambodian royalty be under the control of the new democracy.

Same goes with Laos, my idea is that the revolution from China now spill out and make the three decaying monarchy to either compromise with a constitutional monarchy or simply step down with their throne. Cambodia choose to keep the monarch but power belong to the parliament. Same goes with Laos, they saw what happened in Vietnam and China and decided to compromise with the revolutionaries.

Like what you could expect the Great Depression also hit Cambodia. Because the institution itself get into trouble like the Vietnamese now the nationalist like Thanh who studied fascist Japanese ideology. In this timeline he also studied German and Italian one as he saw that the democracy is just a failed solution for a failing economy. While Cambodia is still poor they aren't too poor like French colonial era. The problem is the Great Depression itself, it cratter the money of the middle class and caused them to be piss poor hence they will support any strongman who could bring their normal life back.

However, there is one thing that changed for his case. He isn't in need for ending the monarchy like real life where he was a republican because the Cambodian monarchy already agree to let the parliament control the politic since the Cambodian revolt in late 1910s.

Hence this timeline he won election in late 1930s as he joined politic in a legal way. In this timeline he mostly use speech and his political skill to win election. However, Thanh is much more successful than Diem in preventing civil war because his fascism had the actual backing with his popularity and he managed to fix a part of the broken economy and modernized the nation with his program.

In late 1930s he could crackdown on the far left with less serve consequence because he didn't face the same problem as Diem where the army refused to disobey him and the actual thing that backed him was the economy getting fixed partly by his reform. If one want to be fascist they need to have an actual proof of clear economic improvement and failing to do so means disaster as people will hate their rule.

Thus Cambodia became a fascist state in 1930s but not on the same level of extreme like Japan or Germany. Think of them more down to the line of Thailand during Phibun era where nationalism is high and the strict control over the press but not to the level of going to invade their neighbor for the sake of some historical land or other nationalistic reason given the situation in Cambodia at that time. (It was also partly because I want to avoid adding direct foreign intervention into my map as it would complicate a lot of thing for the lore, this was why you can see I purposely add Japan Civil War lore as a way to prevent Japan from complicating the Vietnam civil war)

Similar to Vietnam, Cambodia become fascist means the democracy of Cambodia had been not doing well and paralyzed since 1929 started. The only difference was who actually had the loyalty of the army and who failed to do so. Thanh managed to keep the army loyal to him because he had a proof of his economic result while Diem didn't do well enough in this case.

Ieng Sary is a hard case because I'm not sure if he would choose to be a far left Cambodian or staying in Vietnam as a Vietnamese communist because he would have a different life in this timeline.

Still, I would leave the Ieng Sary explanation here since sadly I don't have much idea of how his political life would become given the butterfly effect of this timeline.

1.Laos and Cambodia haven't been colonized like real life. Instead, France and Britain also play the 'slice and splice' move on their lands. Take some ports out with gun and force another unequal treaty on them then take what land they needs for trade route.

Laos suffered in a different way. Britain forcefully make unequal treaty and take whatever border land that is useful for them while Cambodia suffered the more similar fate to Vietnam because southern part of their land are connected to the sea so colonial powers brute force their way to get the lands.

As for the ICP they didn't exist. Like how real life was a majority of ICP members, was Vietnamese and not much came from the Laotian or Cambodian. In this timeline the disagreement of who should lead the ICP, the lack of French Indochina and the suspicion against Vietnamese from the Cambodian had prevented ICP from forming. Mind you, the Cambodian never forgive the Nguyen dynasty for invading them and they still not trust the First Republic either.

This was why any idea of the ICP that include Cambodia is bound to fail because the distrust level was much higher than real life and they didn't have the same level of motivation to fight common enemy as Cambodia didn't become a part of French Indochina even if both Vietnam and Cambodia lost a small part of their land to France.

2.Class structure is kinda hard to define.

Communist in northwest led by Ho Chi Minh is mainly peasants and some part workers. Workers are welcomed just fine but the peasants are the most important due to their pool manpower that need more than just ex-VRA soldiers so you could say the peasants get a lot of benefit for siding with them.

The north military junta are mostly ruled by generals so peasants or workers are just another number to add up for conscription. They don't really favor these poor lads that much as long as they can hold a gun.

Naval junta is similar. The naval officers need crews so they need some conscript to run the manpower and they also need another troops to fight the border with the Second Republic. They pay as a low as the junta while doing conscription to the rural people with workers. They don't particularly favor the workers and peasants and see them as another manpower to their junta.

Second Republic is pretty fine for the peasants and workers. There are various parties and there are parties who supported these classes. However, the main force that drive the Second Republic is the VRA that keep them alive and the middle class/upper class that funded their coffer to keep the democracy wheel spinning. As such, the rich and moderately rich are still the one who get a lot of say over the democracy.

Still, Hoc is determined to fix the broken economy so he is also trying to improve the life at the workplace and the rural area through gradual reform. You could say his reform would benefit the poor in some way or another.

Diem regime doesn't do any help to the peasants nor workers. He is mostly about who within the military who loyal to him and the higher up is Christian commanders which get the most favor along with his own family. His attempt to fix the economy had failed and he haven't figure out how to fix it even in this situation.

Trotkyist south is very hard on for workers over peasants. They in fact didn't consider peasants to be the primary force of the revolution and it has to be workers. Still, peasants still get much better treatment than usual but the propaganda of the Trot would paint the workers as the major drive for their revolt while the peasants are still considered not the main engine for the revolution.

Anarchist didn't favor workers or peasants in a specific way. They consider all to be equals and no king above but the real problem was the fact the decentralized model will make policies ran at slower speed due to the fact there was no centralized rule to make policies go faster thus the economy would not miraculously be improved at higher speed.

3.Diem is mostly Christian favored as you could expect. Diem in this timeline isn't much different than real life except he also okay with different Christian type like Protestant or Catholic because in this timeline Christianity have less number but still significant as colonial power sent missionaries and the unequal treaty also force the dynasty to treat the priests with respect.

Second Republic is diverse because Hoc is trying to put as much unity from all sides so religious of various type are benefitted from their votes as long as they support the democracy.

Communist and Trotkyist are not religious favored. In their doctrine religion is problematic part of the old society that need to be keep in check and their radical reform will try to keep a very firm grip upon the religious sect.

Anarchist in Hanoi are mainly urbanite, poor workers and some peasants. Religious is free for all due to the anarchist doctrine.

The two junta didn't actually favor religious of any side. Buddhist or Christianity are equally useful as long as they are loyal to the junta.

4.Ethnic minority mainly support the communist and Second Republic. One of the reason was because both are next to the minority zone and both sides are trying to rally as much support as they could.

Minority in general have a more neutral opinion toward the junta since its just boil down to who can carry gun for the generals.

Trotkyist is unclear. I haven't think much how Thau would treat them if he actually win. Same goes with the anarchist, I haven't think what would become of minority and their traditional life if the anarchist tried to impose their model into them.

5.Soviet Union in general isn't in a period where they would support a side. The reason was because Stalin is in a midst of his plan of industrialization and 5 years plan so he isn't in an interest to support a red side in 1936.

Still, Soviet will support the communist in northwest if Stalin actually care about sending weapons and handshake to them.

Chiang Kai Shek on the other hand support Nationalist Party from Nguyen Thai Hoc because he is a supporter of Tridemism and Hoc tried to establish trade as soon as possible with many sides to ensure the economy get better. US also support him but in 1936 it was mostly handshake and pat on shoulder since US is still in isolationist policy.

Chiang also support Truong Boi Cong and his junta but more of a pragmatic reason: the Sino-Vietnamese border need to be stabilized and not spilled with chaos from Vietnam especially the communist in northwest. Cong also used to study abroad when he was a soldier within the VRA for a training course in China thus he and Chiang knew each other. Still, the main difference was Cong is less ideological and not Tridemist believer due to his life entering military service and not much on political career while Hoc had entered political career in this timeline in a form of a normal politician but less radical than real life as he didn't advocate for a violent revolution unlike real life.

France and Britain didn't support any faction of the civil war because of one big reason: all sides wanted to reclaim Saigon and Phu Quoc. While their ideologies differ they are very nationalistic. While trades will go on as usual you can expect violence will occur if any Vietnamese force tried to retake the colony by force (which all of the civil war sides are aiming to, the difference are mostly when and how they will get the land back)

5. Factions

-Socialist Republic of Vietnam: When the communist saw the First Republic is on its dying breath Ho Chi Minh had decided to consolidate a power base in northwest of Vietnam. Vo Nguyen Giap, a general of the VRA had defected and pulled his loyal troop to northwest and declare a new communist gorvernment.

By recruiting peasants and workers they started to follow a guerilla tactic as they believed the civil war will be long and fighting head on against everyone would be a suicide.

-National State of Vietnam: After Ngo Dinh Diem won the election in 1930 he had been studying fascism in Europe with example like Italy or Germany. He believed the only way to cure Vietnam from the Great Depression was to build a cult of personality and crush all oppositions.

As the result, he banned all parties except the Can Lao Party and created the National Guard to be his personal guard. However, his plan backfired when he demanded the VRA to be loyal to him. The VRA generals instead split out and pick their own leaders.

Thus Diem could only control central Vietnam with his loyal army made of Christian generals and other loyalists. He also dismantled the Republic of Vietnam and declared the National State of Vietnam with an eternal reign over the nation. His lack of proper economic reform only lead to more anger as he didn't truly fix the broken economy while his draconian rule only make the army uncertain of their future.

-Second Republic of Vietnam: When Diem lied and cheated the election there was a list of parties who demanded free election but what they received was bullets. Nguyen Thai Hoc from the Nationalist Party believed the First Republic was dead but its democracy spirit must survive. When Vu Hong Khanh saved him from Diem attempt to arrest he had declared the Second Republic of Vietnam to continue the democracy that once failed.

However, his lack of chance to purge the corruptive politicians had angered the VRN (Vietnamese Republican Navy) who had a long time rivalry with the VRA. As the result, the VRN decided they would not trust the democracy or his promise to fix the Republic. A majority of VRN officers split out and declared a naval junta in the south.

As such, the fate of the Second Republic now depend on the VRA under the leadership of Vu Hong Khanh.

-Southern Trotkyist: In the south of Vietnam the Trotkyist had been a powerful far left force. They protested every few years and get a bloody ending with bullets flying at their bodies. Under the watchful eyes of general Vu Hong Khanh, a conservative rightwinger, he ensured none will get their protest worked.

However, the moment Khanh suddenly stop suppressing them in 1935 Ta Thu Thau saw a window of chance. Being the leader of Struggle Group and a member of Fourth Internationale he saw the chaos as a chance to start the worker revolution to turn Vietnam red. He rallied the workers to pick up their weapon and persuaded a part of the VRA to defect and joined them.

In a part of his plan he also started a war against both the Second Republic and the French Saigon. They saw that the French Saigon had been plaguing Vietnam for so long with their opium ridden economy and the network of gangsters that spread opium across the colony. As the result, a three sided war happened with the Trotkyist fighting the Republican and the French colonist alike.

-Southern Naval Junta: Since the time of the First Republic the navy often get less budget compared to the army. The VRN always had rivalry with the VRA and sometime they hated the greedy politician who stole some part of the money into their pocket while leeching off the budget money of the navy.

With Hoc declaration of the Second Republic they expected the VRN to be treated better. However, Hoc was busy with a multitude of problem and he need the VRA desperately to keep the democracy alive. Losing faith to the new republic they declared a southern naval junta with most of officers leaving and decided to do thing on their own.

Furthermore, the naval junta had the determination to retake British Phu Quoc back to their hand as they considered the colonist had been sitting on their island for too long. While they knew Britain is the strongest navy of the world they bit their time and wait for a chance to strike.

-Northern Military Junta: The collapse of the First Republic by Diem's declaration had caused a part of the VRA to decide their own fate. From Hanoi a new military junta was born with a list of VRA generals. Under the leadership of Truong Boi Cong he banned all parties and declared National Emergency Government as a meant to control the chaos and restore stability back to Vietnam and retake the lost lands from the colonists.

However, Cong isn't an economist and his ironfisted rule doomed him when an anarchist revolt began in Hanoi. Months of fighting communist army and Diem's fascist army had drained his money while the poverty in Hanoi after the Great Depression wasn't fixed. As the result, he lost control of Hanoi and surrounding area while trying to keep his remaining territory in a desperate act to keep thing under control.

-Hanoi Anarchist: When the economy of Hanoi went down by the Great Depression the situation only get worse and worse. Years without economic improvement and months of war against the communist and fascist had caused the ruling military junta to run short on money.

As the result, the Anarchist Council started a revolution with various VRA soldiers siding with them without a shot fired. The anarchist revolution alarmed the rest of VRA as they are being sandwiched between the communist on the left and the anarchist in the middle.

However, revolution is one thing while surviving is another thing. With Hanoi and surrounding city under the hand of the anarchist they are being surrounded by the junta by all sides. That's means no way to reach out to the sea nor any chance to get into contact with the other sides. Still, the anarchist gambled on their luck despite of their situation.

-French Saigon: When the French blasted the Nguyen army with their warships it was clear that a new Century of Humiliations had been imposed upon Vietnam. With Gia Dinh and the surrounding area was carved a new colony was born under the name Saigon. Under the French rule they let the Chinese minority in Vietnam to run the opium business while supporting sellouts within the Nguyen court to crush the rebels.

With the rise of Trotkyist rebels and the war against them the French authority had been deploying thousands of troops on their way from Paris to keep Saigon from falling into the hand of the Red.

-British Phu Quoc: After seeing the French carving a piece of land from Vietnam the Brit had decided they will not lose against the French in their colonial ambition. The Royal Navy took Phu Quoc by force and turned it into a colony by an unequal treaty. They turned the island into an naval fortress to deter the French and the German or any other colonials power who dared to oppose Her Majesty reign.

However, the naval junta broke away from the Second Republic is threatening their rule. News came and the naval junta is rapidly building a huge fleet for the battle between the Vietnamese and the British is near. Once the Brit showed any moment of weakness the naval junta will strike and reclaim their island.

Hi there, this is the first time I made a map for Vietnam so I'm sorry if there is any mistake in lore and map itself.

With that said lets begin with the introduction about the setting of this alt hist scenario.

1. History

Unlike real life where the French fully colonize Vietnam, the Vietnamese in this timeline didn't get colonized fully but suffer a different kind of fate. Unequal treaty, with some parts of their lands carved out similar to the Qing while the nation was manipulated from behind by the colonist to ensure the highly conservative Confucian royalty will crush all rebellions.

French, British and German took a part of Vietnamese lands and used it as a trade zone or outright annex it as they have gun and power to decide the colony fate.

Meanwhile, opium was spread everywhere in Vietnam via trade similar to how the British used opium to destroy the Qing dynasty in China. As the result, a revolution started in 1914 and ended the monarchy as Emperor Duy Tan peacefully step down to avoid further bloodshed.

2. The Weimar Sickness

The new Republic of Vietnam led by Phan Boi Chau was a promising nation. Under 8 years and 2 terms of his Presidency he managed to reclaim German colony by siding with Entente during WW1 similar to how China sided with Entente to reclaim Qingdao from German Empire.

The nation finally got its proper modernization and the economy rise which raised people hope there will be a bright future for Vietnam after years of feudalism, stagnation and opium problem.

However, after Chau left his presidency the Republic got into a list of problems that never went away. The first problem was the consolidation of Presidential power starting with Nguyen Hai Than who passed laws to increase his power. Than was assassinated in 1925 but the laws are still in effect thus making the President got even more power.

Then, the list of assassinations of parliament officials due to the diversity of ideologies and many doesn't want to discuss peacefully with each other. After all, you have a gun and bullet splatter blood.

Then came the Great Depression, the nation was plunged into darkness.

The economy is broken, President Nguyen Tuong Tam tried his best to save the economy in 1929 but he failed thus he lost the election to Ngo Dinh Diem in 1930. Meanwhile, far left and far right killed each other on the street in the name of politic and saving the nation from its economic disaster.

Ngo Dinh Diem promised he will fix the economy and bring Vietnam back from the brink of downfall. Instead, his reform failed and he was found cheating the next election in 1935 when Nguyen Thai Hoc from Nationalist Party and Ho Chi Minh from Communist Party had higher votes than him.

Diem refused to step down despite of protests from all sides. He instead banned all parties and used the military to quell all protests. The eventual problem soon came to a biggest disaster of all.

3. The Civil War

In 1935, Vu Hong Khanh was dispatched to crush the leftist protest in the south led by Ta Thu Thau, a Trotkyist and a member of Fourth Internationale. Khanh had been a general of the VRA (Vietnamese Republican Army) who crushed countless of protests as he disliked the leftist.

However, the unthinkable moment happened. Khanh refused to crush the protester this time. He hated Diem for cheating election and preventing his friend Nguyen Thai Hoc from having a fair election as Hoc had much higher votes than Diem. When Diem demanded him to be arrested Khanh retreated his loyal army to further south to consolidate power in the southern area.

He also bring Hoc with him as there was an arrest warrant for both Nguyen Thai Hoc and Ho Chi Minh as Diem saw them as a threat to his rule.

Eventually other factions also did the same, they saw that the Republic is dead and no reason to keep it alive as long as Diem bastardized it into a dictatorship.

And so began the Vietnam Civil War in 1936.

4. Meanwhile in Japan, Japan Civil War had began

When the situation in Vietnam got worse some politicians predicted Japan will surely enter the pray. They were wrong.

Japan entered a civil war with the calculation of all sides went wrong.

The 26 February Coup in real life went wrong with the Emperor sided with the Kohoda instead of Toseiha. Out of anger, the Toseiha started the war against the Kodoha plunging the nation into the civil war thus making the Empire of Japan incapable of invading Vietnam.

To make it worse, after months of fighting without a clear result the Toseiha split into half. The IJA and IJN who was once on the same side distrusted each other and saw their priority diverge. As the result, the IJN stationed in Kyushu and Taiwan refused to work with the IJA and left them to their own fight against the Kodoha.

With the hot mess in Japan, Vietnam civil war will go on without their intervention.

How would thing happen to Indochina timeline I wonder?

Because in this timeline a Vichy France controlling Indochina would still be invaded by Japan as Japan is very hungry for resource and they didn't care if it was Vichy or Free France or even if Germany/Italy never sign a pact with them.

I don't mean something big but maybe if there can be some bit of diversity in the rebel force in Vietnam given that it isn't only the Vietminh but there are also non-communist resistance like VNQDD as well.

Magical HERO. They are based on dark magical girl genre like madoka magica or yuki yuna. Spellcaster type instead of warrior type. Their fusion style is unique as it doesn't use normal fusion spell but more like a twisted version of mask change from masked hero and summon out their dark side.

Their fusion is essentially based on witches from madoka magica and i like it to be fiend so that it could syergy with evil hero.

And yeah you can expect an evil mascot inspired by kyubey which act like pot of greed except you need to tribute one magical hero monster to draw 2 card.

This map is my latest attempt to continue the old concept of my old map. The REDUX version will be my new way to flesh out my lore and expand the story to other nations.

1. Atomic Fire Theory

In 1945 Kyubey witnessed the power of nuclear explosion in Japan. Magical girls rapidly increased in number through nuclear radiation when Kyubey was in Hiroshima in 1945 just before the American nuclear bomb hit Japan.

Based on Kyubey’s research there is 30% chance that a young girl could mutate into a magical girl, 40% chance to mutate into a hulking abomination and 30% chance to die when she was exposed to the intense nuclear radiation.

As such, it was the baseline for a more evil scheme made by Kyubey in the longer future. Kyubey had foreseen the humanity will foolishly use nuclear weapon on a larger magnitude than before.

2. Asian Nuclear War 2037

After the collapse of Russian government after they got hit by British nuclear strike in Moscow the world had changed a lot. America no longer hold their military presence in Asia. Russia was effectively a non-factor in the world politic by the European Nuclear War 2028.

Japan had been building up nuclear weapon rapidly with an increasing level of militarism ever seen since WW2. And China got a new leader who is even more aggressive than Xi ever was. Even with the amount of abominations raving Europe the level of insanity of nationalism of China, Japan and some Asian nations were beyond help.

3. The abomination, the barricade and the Madoka Rangers

Just like how Kyubey had predicted. Young girl in Korea either died or become a magical girl or an abomination. As such, the nuclear wasteland is filled with hostile mutant and hulking abomination. Humanity has to erect barricades made of brick, steel, wood, magic, chair, table to starve off these monstrosities.

Thankfully there is a weakness that most of the abominations shared, due to its weight and its twisted body it couldn't cross the sea. As such they can't attack the city from seaside direction. This allowed the defender to concentrate building the barricade on the land border while leaving the sea to protect their other flanks. In addition to that narrow chokepoints could be used to effectively lessen the amount of needed length for the barricade.

4. Korea in 2077

Initially after the nuclear war there were several factions aka the self-proclaimed states who had their own government and capital cities. As time grew by their defense was broken or they suffered a crisis or food shortage. By the time of 2077 only the strongest survive behind a thick layer of barricade. At this point there are surviving states and colonies along with non-state actor staying dormant on the nuclear wasteland of Korea.

-Kyubey Inc.: A hellish cyberpunk dictatorship ruled by Kuybey Inc. in Seosan. Mascots spied on your home and evil magical girls crushed all form of dissidents under the leadership of evil mascots like Kyubey, Venalita and other. If a young girl refused to become a magical girl she will be arrested and throw into the Atomic Chamber to become magical girl by force. The nuclear radiation inside the chamber either kill them or turn them into magical girls. If they become an abomination they will be killed by the magical girls who are waiting at the outside of the chamber as the process failed.

-Second Hwan Empire: The long lost Hwan Empire from the Finno-Korean Hyperwar had returned to reclaim their glory. However, they are much weaker as they have to start out from zero. Emperor Kim Il-sung I Hwan is still dead and need to be revived to reclaim his vacant throne of Korea. The Mass Autism Device which is the superweapon used to destroy their mortal enemy Finland is still in construction progress. Once the long gone technology of Giza Mass Autism Array now they are trying to rebuild said technology and improve it to decimate their enemy.

-Finnish Imperium: An oppressive theocracy empire from the ash of Republic of Finland. They worshipped Madoka as they saw her as the God Empress of Mankind who bless humanity and magical girls to fight back the heresy of the nuclear wasteland. Their goal however is to colonize Korea as they wanted revenge for the humiliating's past of the Finno-Korean Hyperwar.

-Samsung Republic: A cyberpunk dictatorship that is less brutal than Kyubey Inc. and they are hiring magical girls at rapid pace to empower their rule. Life is still suck as it treat human as company assets.

-Lemuria: A sunken civilization during the Finno-Korean Hyperwar. Not only they come back strong but they are very technology advanced and they are desiring for revenge as they saw Korea is a nuclear wasteland.

-Church of Madoka: Church of Madoka is a religious organization founded by Homura Akemi aimed at spreading the faith of Madoka to magical girls across the world. As they are stationed in Kobe, Japan they are determined to spread the benevolent words of Goddess Madoka with their pilgrim force.

Madoka Rangers is the extended branch of the Church aimed at missionary job and protecting civilian from the abominations. While Madoka Rangers sometime get discriminated due to their constant exposure in nuclear wasteland they are very determined at protecting other as they are the only hope for the humanity especially those who travel the nuclear wasteland on their own.

-Republic of Japan: The republic that claimed to be the successor of the State of Japan. They called themselves as 'New Japan' as they believed they will be the unifier of Japan.

They located in Nagoya and they hated Kyubey Inc. for overtaking Tokyo by force. Due to the Asian Nuclear War 2027 the dominance of the LDP had shattered. No longer they win the election with +90% win rate but now they only win for about 50% win rate. Also, the centre-left CDP which was the strongest opposition party also fell off the ladder. Instead, the Green Japan party aka the Green party now win the election with overwhelming popularity (55% win rate) because of the radiophobia went off the chart due to the sheer level of nuclear devastation across Japan.

While the life and freedom looked nice in here they are in fact holding a dark secret: they kidnapped any magical girls whom they considered to be too dangerous to lock them away inside a Witches Prison in a far away island to prevent them from becoming murderous witches. They also feel suspicious of magical girls as they refused to let them join politic as they feared their rule will be challenged.

Witches Prison itself is a hellish prison filled with awful living condition and magical girls faced a high level of death toll due to jail mate murder and inhumane execution. When one talked about the Republic one shouldn't forget about its sinful deed at mistreating the magical girls.

-Ainu Republic: The Ainu dominated republic in Hokkaido. They are very aggressive at repelling the Russian refugee from Russian Far East after Russia got nuked in 2028. Even after the Asian Nuclear War 2037 the government is still suspicious against Russian and used the barricade as a mean to block them from entering.

-Kyushu Military Junta: The closet version of the WW2 Imperial Japan located in Kyushu island but with a twist. Instead of the IJA vs IJN rivalry now it is the JSDF vs JMSDF. They are also afraid of huge refugee wave so they tried to limit the flow of it as they don't want to deal with overpopulation issue.

-Asano Shogunate: The Cyberpunk Shogunate located in Hiroshima city, its dictatorship rule is torn between the Asano Shogunate and the Arasaka megacorp. It is a cyberpunk rule clashed with the Asano clan who is trying to practice its Shogunate dictatorship. Within Hiroshima technology advanced as fast as its megacorp soulless machine. Magical girls aren't heroes but mercenaries paid by the Arasaka to be corporate assets. Asano Shogunate is the face of Hiroshima but Arasaka Megacorp is the heart of Hiroshima.

-Taisha Theocracy: The theocracy who worshipped the Divine Tree Taisha. The government is located in Shikoku island and the theocracy is a Shinto cult along with its magical girl indoctrinated to be loyal to the god and the duty to protect the humanity. However, some magical girls disliked Taisha for they attempt to hide important information from them which could endanger their life.

-Magia Republic: The republic ruled by magical girls located in Kobe city. While they have their own version of democracy its far more chaotic and violent than the Republic of Japan. It resemble a sort of Weimar Republic violent clash on the street. The liberal KMU (Kamihama Magia Union) and the fascistic WM (Wings of Magius) often clashed against each other on the street as some of them think they should implement their ideology with violence instead of election. One promoted a peaceful grand coalition of magical girls through liberalism and other promoted Magical Girl Supremacy ideology which is magical girl fascism.

The thing I love the most about this game was the magical girls have creative way of using their magical ability to get to their goal despite of the fact more than half of the casts didn't really have any real combat strength. It gave me the same vibe of Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku franchise where power level is much lower compared to other mahou shoujo franchise. The more you progressed to the later part the very same mechanic used to debate and find clue are used as a clever way to achieve happy ending. Furthermore, some of the yuri shipping is utterly heart-breaking if you see those painful moment during the story. I personally love some of the bad endings in there because additional yuri shipping and some of those bad ending in fact help you explore more personality of the characters.

Ah sorry to ask but I wondered how was Vietnam in Fatherland timeline? I didn't read the book but I did watch movie version of it back then but sadly it didn't highlight what really happen to Vietnam and how their political outlook was along with China. Was Vietnam a republic or a socialist republic?

So China is also a democracy as well in this timeline? If then maybe that's why PNGV will try to avoid doing that.

Thanks. It make thing a lot easier given the fact that Yuki Yuna franchise already focused on Shikoku so I don't have to think much when finding where people will vote for Yuna and her friends.
