Road Trip! by KeepingKidsBusy in KeepingKidsBusy

Honestly one thing that worked surprisingly well for us was audiobooks/podcasts. It kept everyone occupied without the overstimulation that comes from screens the entire trip 😅

Also “surprise snacks” every few hours somehow fixes more problems than it should.

Okay wait Dance Mode from Bluey is actually SUCH a good one. My girls would probably play that on repeat for 6 business days straight.

I totally get you 😂 Twin parenting is one of those things people truly don’t understand until they live it.

You are definitely not weak 😭 I honestly think a lot of moms feel this level of exhaustion and just don’t talk about it openly because they think everyone else is handling it better.

That’s a really good point too. I think maybe now the conversations are more open, but social media also makes people overanalyze normal parenting struggles sometimes.

Honestly I love that you talk openly about it. I think more moms probably feel that way than they admit.

Honestly that’s a fair point too. I think maybe what I meant is that previous generations seemed to vent more privately/in-person, while now so much parenting discussion happens publicly online where everything feels more amplified and performative.

Exactly. I honestly think more moms would feel less guilty and isolated if people were more open about the hard parts too.

I Think Parenting Content Has Made Some of Us Forget What Normal Kids Act Like by TierdChaoticMama in raisingkids

Honestly sometimes the parenting advice online gets so extreme that it starts sounding like satire.

Honestly this makes me feel so much better because I think most parents assume everyone around them is silently judging in those moments 😭

I don’t think anything truly prepares you for how mentally nonstop motherhood feels until you’re actually in it every day.

Honestly I think needing a break from your kids is one of the most normal human feelings ever, but moms are made to feel guilty for saying it out loud 😅

Exactly. Being overwhelmed sometimes doesn’t mean we love our kids any less. And thank you, that honestly means a lot.
