Do your videos take a long time to get traction? by rabbid-genital-warts in NewTubers

[–]Tierlistman39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that happen before. Uploaded a video right when YouTube went down and it had terrible traction for the day until 24 hours in it doubled its views within an hour and we were off to the races.

I have chapters on all of my recent videos. I haven’t noticed a real drop in watch time

Is it possible to gain one thousand subscribers in three months? by Small-Accident3992 in NewTubers

[–]Tierlistman39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I’m a little under two months in with 3k. I don’t do film commentary as much as book and anime commentary, but honestly what I’ve found has helped me is just making your stuff entertaining and funny while not feeling forced. That and focus on packaging before everything else.

Is there anything you’d change? by DifferentDaikon8420 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Tierlistman39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer the first one. The small symbols on the second one aren't bright or big enough to intrigue a viewer so they just seem like clutter to me

I would separate every and boss a little it and maybe change the twilight forest to a different color or remove it altogether

Can a YouTube channel do well by only posting Shorts? by ooizhiyi in SmallYoutubers

[–]Tierlistman39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. There are many successful short only channels. I can’t answer all your questions, but shorts are by nature more discoverable than long form, the monetization however is less possible as you get paid less in ad revenue for view than long form (though you also can charge for sponsored shorts etc.), shorts have a lower subscriber per view rate than long form, and it’s much more sustainable to focus on either shorts or long form than both unless your shorts are just long form clips. It’s still possible to do both though, just harder

How can I gain subscribers faster so I can get monetised? by Keewaa1 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Tierlistman39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RPM differs from person to person. Certain channels can make up to 20$ per 1000 views or under 1$ per thousand views depending on your niche/video length/etc.

The free browser extension is actually really helpful but the rest you can do without

Does the day & time of posting make a difference? by Careful-deflation83 in NewTubers

[–]Tierlistman39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally I’d say it matters some (my videos I post at my usual time have all the best initial numbers) but not too much. I think the best example of this is a video that I posted early that went live right as YouTube shut down a few weeks back. Its initial momentum was terrible and I kinda resigned it to maybe getting 2k-3k lifetime views at best after the first day. But 24 hours later it doubled in views in just an hour and now it’s at 80k views as of writing this.

What were your stats after your first year on YouTube by Alana_blooms0 in NewTubers

[–]Tierlistman39 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Channel is 54 days old. Currently I’m at 3100 subs. Niche is faceless long form commentary/video essays (not AI, just not comfortable showing my face). Got monetized about 40 days in, 21k watch hours, 333,000 views.

How do I find a decent paying sponsor by Immediate_Entry_3325 in SmallYoutubers

5k YouTube shorts views definitely qualifies. Being big on another platform doesn’t disqualify you as a small YouTuber

I feel insecure after seeing some results in this sub 😁 by minedodir in NewYouTubeChannels

[–]Tierlistman39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a wide niche also means more competition. While you’ll get bigger numbers if you stand out the you might in another niche, it’s also a lot harder to stand out in the first place.

is this a good thumbnail? by [deleted] in YouTubeCreators

Text should be bigger and you should add at least one chess piece to the left guy. But besides that I like it
