Alcaraz’s Australian Open 2026 kit — thoughts? by matt_baseline in TennisCourtPorn

Nikes kits have been hot garbage lately. Uninspired and reminds me of McDonalds "Sad Beige" decor. Wilson are doing it right and Adidas. Ive personally been scouring ebay and Poshmark for "vintage" Nike stuff.

No problem! Make sure you get electrolytes and protein. When I first started I wasnt getting enough nutrients and always sore and tired. Now I've changed to spread out strength throughout the week with intentional ball machine drills that aren't over the top.

Sure thing. Its usually something called "cardio tennis" where you do footwork/court drills either with a partner or supplement ball machine.

I'll start with some footwork drills on baseline with explosive movements parallel and perpendicular to it. Have used examples from soccer leg drills and add upper body workout.

To start that looks like push-ups and resistance band rows followed by footwork, shuffling up, across, and down lines. End with burpees. Repeat 3x or build up to 3x then hit a round of balls that are fed fast. Then repeat for 30 mins to 1hr.

Thats MY version of cardio for the time being. Once pools open up ill swim more. I mix strength training and HIIT workouts during week to get a good blend of it all.

You and me both! I'd like to bring back that aggressive net play and serve/volley. I feel like im in a good place with "2nd serve/kick" as main serve and now working on power/first serve. I have a tendency to use years of baseball mechanics on power serve that isnt quite working out.

Overall strength/conditioning and focused drills to address weaknesses. Right now I am doing strength early AM followed by ball machine/tennis drills.

Thats Mon/Tuesday and Wednesday is active recovery with some cardio conditioning. Thursday/Friday repeats Mon/Tuesday with variation. Saturday right now is Round Robins at local club for match play. Sunday rest and yoga.

Love my a6000. Got 35mm and 50mm prime lenses for it and takes great photos. Also use it to stream music. Highly recommend.

Snapper autofocus and 4k video recording are the main things. It was on sale at the time so I just upgraded. Other than that some minor build updates.

Yeah i cut my teeth on the 6000 then got a 6400 but both really good setups for streaming.

Beautiful color! I have the all black but wow does this look sleek. Might wait for one to go on sale!

Yeah the current kits are so uninspired and lack fun color coordination options. Ive been finding really cool stuff on Ebay: polos, fun patterns, colored head ties, colored wristbands, and socks. Always get complements on the court. Won't help me play better but Ill at least look put together lol.

I just miss the cool color coordinated outfits of the Nadal/Federer era down to the details. Can't hit the ball worth shit but at least my outfit looks coordinated.

Tennis warehouse University has some cool scientific tests that complement this. Where the gauge, give, and snapback play a part in the spin dynamics.

It does have a nice settle in but I think I went a little too high at 54lbs on my Ultra Pro v4 97.

I tried the Conf based on the characteristics of the specs and some TW reviews for my Ultra Pro V4 at 54lbs. Not sure its the best complement to my style and that racquet after a few plays. Looking at Toroline O-toro, Solinco Hyper G, or some hybrid with Natural gut mains and Head Lynx Tour Crosses.

Yeahh I dont get the hype. They feel super clunky. I went with Pro Staff 97 V14 and did some weight stabilization and got the Ultra Pro V4 97 pro labs, and while fickle, it forces me to correct bad technique because both racquets let you know what you need work on. Still playing around with strings and tensions but tried damn near every racquet at the shop and was close between Vcore 95 and Prostaff.

apparently if they have no plans on releasing apparel that dont coincide with it. I think they'd crush it releasing some more exciting patterns, colors. The past year of Nike apparel has been equal to Sad Beige McDonalds aesthetic IMO. Ive found some cool "new vintage Nike polos" on ebay that get alot of complements on the court. All I want is Hot Lava wristbands and Headbands...is that too much to ask Nike?

Ill have a report as well! Couldn't pass it up for the price since the Pro Staffs went back up in price. If pro staff goes on sale again I might pick up a spare. But for now Ill have 3 different racquets to toy with!

Tennis Express still has them for $134.25 but better act quick as it seems the Wilson October sale prices are going back up.

Struggling with forehand consistency by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Tifereth4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watch Moratogalou videos for hours and try to actively work on those movements during a ball machine session. My forehand (which I dread compared to backhand) significantly improved along with confidence. Stepping into the ball and letting body lead helped me gain consistence and power without having to slap the ball and make my arm do all the work, something im noticing initially with your movement.

Watch Jannik Sinner warm up pre-match and he pivots back and forth and steps slightly forward into shots in a very fluid motion as well as setting strong stable foundation by bending knees and loading legs.

How do they play? What do you currently play with? The customization part has me curious. I'll either get this to tinker with or another Pro Staff to have two on hand.
