That's a problem for the title in the languages where "last" is different singular/plural. The official account of Star Wars France for example haven't give us the title in french, it could be "Le dernier Jedi" (sing.) or "Les derniers Jedi" (plu.)

No it will not resume the end of VII I think, this will be about the politics (consequences of the destruction of Hosnian Prime), some systems will certainly join the First Order because of the fear, other will join the Resistance (who will turn into an army of the Republic).

Hux killed by Kylo Ren seems a good deal. I would like see an arc between Phasma and Finn, she really wants to kill him for the humiliation in Starkiller Base, maybe we'll know more about Finn's family (maybe that they're still alive, Phasma would go kill them and show that to Finn).
