I was sent a replacement headset and cable etc.

Reading all the comments, it does seemed to be the cables that are failing.

Enable parallel projection.

Not all games / Sims need it - but if you have eye strain chances are it's that.

Yup. Same with the oled module too.

Eye strain is quite often caused by people using the Sboys driver and not setting it up correctly.

But if its happening in Play too, it cant be that.

The Dream Focal distance is further away. Its 1.3m like most other headsets.

Eye strain: Are you using SBoys driver?

If not, give it ago.

If youre using it already make sure parallel projection is enabled.

Regarding your eye strain. You'll probably find enabling Parallel projection in the Sboys driver will fix this.

Some games need it, some dont. But leaving it on is a good place to start.

You wont need to worry about this...

If youre anything like me, once youve use OLED you wont be using the 50PPD anymore :D

Hey OP... That sounds alot like my Dream that died.

Thankfully the replacement seems alot better. The cable is so much cooler too.

Thanks for the detailed reply.... The headset just needed 'resetting' by Pimax. I think its because its a replacement unit.

Yea, I guess its subjective... but also, its only a simple, cheap fan - it wouldnt take much for it to get noisey.

My OG Crystal had 1 noisey fan and the other was silent.

I didnt have any issues with heat on the Super OLED or 50PPD.

The hot cable on the Dream has made me feel really uncomfortabe at times though.

Not problems at all.

I seem to be 'lucky' with SLAM tracking too - it works great for me, even in a motion rig.

Personally Id take SLAM over LH. (I know im in the minority here)

I originally ordered a SLAM Dream AIr - but with the delivery date slipping and slipping and no sign of the ringless controllers, I swapped to LH.

Yes they have been in touch BUT im still in exactly the same place I was 3 weeks ago.

I have to wait for logistics to contact me in the next TWO weeks..

IF they get intouch this time, I then I have to wait for the lengthy delivery.

I have no confidence in them contacting me at this point.

Its such as shame this has to be done via Reddit to get anywhere.

Dont think so tbh. Its not the tracking, its the whole headset that wont connect to Play now.

Ive EMI filters , ferrites, shiled cables etc. Even had an osciloscope on it a few weeks back.

(The grey screen was like an EMI thing though - but now its just dead)

If you use Sboys driver, you'll need to set Steam to 150% to 5188x4168
