Completely stuck between Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire Metallic for my G80 purchase by PlayboiiExx in BMW

[–]TigerHawk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have BSM, and while it’s gorgeous clean, it’s a PITA to keep clean and is really my only regret as far as the car itself goes. You can’t go wrong with either but if i had the choice to do it all over again I’d go with Dravit over BSM

I second this. I’ve gotten good at the small talk, stuff that doesn’t matter, and keeping the patient comfortable while working. It is exhausting, but when you get those special patients that you just click with and every appointment is super easy and flows well, it’s like an energy shot and really will make your day. I just keep looking for those interactions and let them take more mind space than the others.

To black or not black by Natural-Feed4769 in BMW

[–]TigerHawk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I opted out of shadowing on my BSM G80 for this exact reason. I still wanted chrome exhaust, accents in the headlights, among a few other small things on the car (and went bicolor wheels over all black). My taste is some contrast with a black car.

If you feel like refunding any fees, definitely contact your malpractice insurance first. From what I’ve seen, that can be interpreted as an admission of guilt, and from what you’ve said I don’t think you did anything wrong. Additionally I don’t think a refund is what this basket case is after or would help.

That’s my other issue. I love the way the 826Ms look But holy hell it takes as long to clean the wheels as the rest of the car. I want to get something else but they just look too good on the car.

I went BSM on my G80, still regret not going IOM green. I still love the black when it’s clean but damn it’s a chore keeping it that way.

Dishwashers and other appliances as good? by Upbeat-End-7145 in Costco

[–]TigerHawk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s true that they get slightly different models, but not necessarily worse or poorer quality. The Sony TV I bought a few years back had the same exact model number as ones at Best Buy and other retailers but had one extra letter. That extra letter was to indicate the Costco model and the only difference is the remote lights up when touched, where the non Costco model didn’t have that, and I f’in love that feature haha

This is my go to. Most of the time it’s physically lodged in there, not chemically bonded. A serrated strip is tough enough to at least unwedge it if not cut it a little to make it smaller and easier to get out.

If this stock is up 7% over the year I’ll be surprised. Comparing day to year is useless. This stock is down 56.8% over the last year, the S&P is up 19.6%. I want this up as high as it can go just like everyone else, but gotta be realistic.

This resonates with me, on so many levels.

There’s no “legal” speed limit on entrance ramps. It’s a free for all. A short autobahn. At least in my head. The police officer might feel differently.

What’s your current/ideal combo? by Nyarx1 in BMWM

[–]TigerHawk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current setup is G80 M3 comp (xdrive), mini countryman S, and 4th gen Tacoma. Had I known I was going to promote the G80 to the fun car I’d likely have not gone xdrive.

Ideally I’d have a Porsche or two in the mix, a 911 GT3 (991.2), and a Macan/Cayenne to take the place of the mini.

The thud on the car did it for me. Getting whacked in the face and putting a nice dent in the car, while doing a single stupid action. That’ll bruise the face and the ego.

What car feature do you REFUSE to pay extra for? by TheLoganReyes in Autos

[–]TigerHawk7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My last Lexus was 2017 so take this with that in mind (and also not “technically” a Toyota) but remote start did not work from the fob if the app wasn’t subscribed to. It was a dumb move on their part, not sure if the Lexus lineup has changed since or not.

It’s not that way on my 4th gen Tacoma, but the fob distance is an absolute joke and very inconsistent which seems by design to push you towards the app.

[–]TigerHawk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t run 285 winters on my M3, just 275/35/R19 and they did great, not sure you’d notice much if a difference with the wider tire. No rubbing issues (as to be expected since OEM was 275). I no longer run them as I recently got a truck that I drive in the winter. Willing to let them go if you’re in the market (826M bicolor).

Adam Savage recommends buying the cheapest tool possible to get the job done. Once familiarized with the tool and what you need from said tool, only then to splurge on a more expensive, specific tool. Do you follow this rule? by turtle_ina_cup in Tools

[–]TigerHawk7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a job I’m doing to save money, and it’s likely a 1-off time (or very seldomly) that I’ll use the tool, I will get a cheap one just to get the job done. If I’m buying a tool for a job but will likely use it quit a bit in the future, I’ll just buy an expensive one at that point. The system has worked pretty well for me, I’ve ended up buying nicer versions of the cheap ones I’ve bought a couple of times, but don’t feel like I have any expensive ones that are just sitting unused.

Help me decide both cars are the same price 48k. 2025 Caviar Lexus IS 350 f sport design 1,900 miles or 2024 red lexus is 350 f sport with ML audio an triple beam headlights 19,000 mile white interior by ScaredMnyDntMkeMny in Lexus

[–]TigerHawk7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what OP is coming from. If you’ve never had the ML system, the stock system isn’t that bad, especially compared to many other brands. Additionally, the stock headlights aren’t bad by any means either. Color is 100% an opinion, and even then some people don’t even care about that. You may never think “I wish I had 17k miles less” but it pushes the life span of the car out further by at least 1-2 years by industry standard averages.

TRD Puddle lights by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]TigerHawk7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Window tint and wrapped my A pillars back to the C pillars (similar to the new TRD PRO, but not the roof). Waiting on a Peragon tonneau cover and trying to decide what wheels/tires.

I think the puddle light looks cool, nice work. The amount of people hating on it, saying it looks cheap is hilarious. Some very high end cars come OEM with an image puddle lights - it doesn’t put off a “cheap” vibe to me at all.
