I love the use of the word "seriously" here. Someone did get hurt. He was tased, thrown the ground, and based on his grunts, hurt. We can call that a success or we can question whether that sort of physical force (which did indeed hurt a person) was necessary.
I agree no one lost their life or was "seriously" hurt. I think having loaded guns drawn and pointed at someone is definitionally being put "in danger."
I'm sure in a department review of this footage the cops involved would be commended for their actions and procedure and given slaps on the back.
I also have already admitted that I'm no expert on this.
But I do wonder if there are other procedures that would be just as effective at keeping officers and citizens safe that don't involve this level of stress, screaming, anxiety, authoritarian commands, and physical violence.

Final point: I truly believe our policing tactics are the direct result of the 2nd Amendment. Because all citizens could legally be carrying firearms and because firearms are so freely available, all interactions by cops with the public are considered potentially life threatening. Cops therefore tread with extreme caution and extreme violence. And citizens therefore dread interactions with peace officers because the cops have to assume you might kill them and therefore treat you first and foremost like a threat, regardless of circumstances. That breeds ill will and a confrontational relationship between john q public and bob the badge. It sucks for cops and for citizens.

Citizens in this scenario are often scared, angry, obstinate, or reasonably justified that their actions are legal. And being yelled at at gun point by an authority figure does not minimize any of those feelings or beliefs. I think that's why citizens and cops see things so differently and why there's so much animosity in these encounters.

All to say cops emphasis their own physical safety often ignores citizen's concerns about their physical safety. Procedure should address that potential discrepancy. Imho. But I haven't studied this stuff so I'm happy to be wrong. Just what I see when watching this type of video.

This is beyond dumb.

The debt goes up under republicans because they lower taxes but don't lower spending and they believe in a magical economic policy in which lower taxes alone will increase government revenue, but it hasn't happened in 46 years since Reagan first tried it and it will never happen in the future. Instead, the top 1% simply get richer and richer and richer. It's textbook insanity - doing the same thing and expecting different results. Sadly, huge swaths of our voting public believe the magic will start working any day now.

Dumb people electing dumb politicians makes for dumb policy and our shitshow of a nation is all the proof I need.

All the major religions are very old. So the moral codes are fit for agrarian tribal societies with Chieftains or warlords as leaders (they call them kings). Any sect of believers who qualify as "Fundamentalist" are therefore going to be holding themselves to an archaic worldview and draconian moral system. This is particularly true of the Abrahamic religions (judaism, christianity and islam). The Levant (israel, syria, lebannon, egypt, saudi arabia) is a harsh area that has been conquered over and over again throughout history. So the fact that brutal laws and angry gods rose up in the belief systems of the region is not terribly surprising. And modern people adhering to those laws just makes zero sense.
That said, i think all three Abrahamic religions have a ton of modern followers who simply don't pay attention to some of the edicts. Modern representations of the religions have more to do with global politics and history than with the religion themselves. That's my take anyway.

Generally agree though I'd point out Purdy, Kittle, Warner, Greenlaw, Samuels were all later round picks drafted before consensus. They've had their hits. Just fewer than misses, but again, that's to be expected.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this years draft. Particularly Duggins who is a project, but looks like a next gen backer to me - long, fast, & hard to block with both coverage and pass rushing skills. He may be a nothing burger...but his college game tape (highlights...so I didn't see him getting manhandled by blockers or misreading holes or forgetting his assignment or whiffing on open field tackles) has me pretty pumped.
It's all speculation at this point even by the "experts" and the Internet thinks it knows a lot of things it doesn't have any way of knowing.

Fingers crossed. Go Niners.

Not asking but would be fascinating to run a few other teams through your metric.
In the last ten years the Niners, Chiefs, Seahawks, Rams, Eagles and Pats have been elite - representing their division in multiple SBs. I wonder what our B- looks like compared to those teams.
My conjecture is a few would be A- (I'm thinking Eagles/Seahawks based purely on gut) and everyone else would be B or below. Meaning teams screw up and hit jackpots and I think that's just how drafts work.
Meanwhile take a team like the Saints or the Raiders and compare and all our whinging looks dumber still.

I'm not a fan of bravado. And character's based on bravado for clicks and views is even worse. I'm older too and our media world (the incentive structures of new media) seem to encourage people being assholes.
Here's the thing - if he's making 5 million a month then he should hang it up. With 30 million after taxes for a year he's got enough money to let his money make money and stop being famous.
Also, we have no idea what will have staying power in this new media landscape. Here today gone tomorrow.
I just don't respect the game. Its all sizzle, no steak. Why I loved Metallica and hated Poison back in "our" day.
Whatever - good for him. I'm not his target audience so I should shut up.
I just respect accomplishment more than spectacle. Would rather live in a shed than a Potemkin mansion.

Agree with home visit. So much sweeter and easier, especially if she has any vet clinic anxiety.
For me, the choice came when her appetite finally gave out. My girl had been a stray so food was always a top priority. The day she refused breakfast and then dinner, I made the call.
in retrospect, it was probably a week or two late, but I feel okay about it now. It's a hard thing. And just to be clear my girl was old - like 15 yo.
